Under the background of social informazation and economic globalization,the importance of English education has become increasingly prominent.English learning in primary school is the beginning stage and the key link of the whole English teaching process.The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)stressed the importance of the oral English teaching,and points out that at this stage,students’ language ability should be vigorously developed,and teachers should be encouraged to make innovative use of information teaching methods to promote the effective integration of information technology and teaching.However,in the process of teaching,owing to the limitations of teaching time and the creation of oral environment,the mode of oral English teaching is monotonous and boring,leading to low enthusiasm and participation of primary school students in oral English learning,resulting in the phenomenon of dumb English.For the sake of improving the present situation of oral English teaching and enhancing teaching effect in primary schools,English teachers are supposed to pay attention to the reform and development of English teaching methods under the background of education informatization,and give full play to the auxiliary and supporting functions of the development of information technology.English dubbing software,as a teaching tool used to assist oral teaching,opens a new perspective for teachers’ oral English teaching and creates a real and interesting learning situation for students’ learning.Based on what mentioned before,the students in Class 3,Grade 4 of a primary school in Yuanping City,Shanxi Province are selected as the research object in this study.Aiming at the current situation of oral English teaching in primary schools,it carrys out action research through the introduction of children’s fun dubbing software,in order to assist oral English teaching in primary schools.And the process of research strictly follows the Four-step method — " plan,action,observation and reflection" proposed by Lewin,K.Before the action research,questionnaires and oral tests are used to investigate the current situation of students’ oral learning.Through the data,it is concluded that there are many problems among primary school students in their oral learning,such as insufficient interest,lack of motivation and self-confidence,shortage of language knowledge and oral expression ability.Based on the above problems,specific programs of the action research were designed.The first round of action research uses dubbing software to assist the oral English class,focusing on the interesting form of oral English teaching,with the purpose of exploring students’ interest and making them enjoy learning,and investigating whether students’ interest,motivation,attitude and confidence in oral English learning have been improved.Whether the students’ English language knowledge and oral expression ability have been improved;the second round of action research emphasizes the connection between oral English teaching in and out of class,with the purpose of cultivating students’ active learning and persistent learning attitude.Dubbing software is used to connect oral English teaching in and out of class,and diversified oral activities are carried out to maintain students’ interest,motivation,attitude and confidence in oral learning.And it can enhance students’ English language knowledge and oral expression ability.Before and after the two rounds of action studies,questionnaires and oral tests are used to analyze students’ oral learning interest,motivation and self-confidence,language knowledge and oral expression ability as well.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn: Dubbing software assisted oral English teaching in primary schools can stimulate students’ interest in oral English learning,cultivate learning motivation and enhance self-confidence,enrich language knowledge and improve oral expression ability,which preliminarily proves the effectiveness of dubbing software in improving oral English teaching in primary schools.At the same time,the corresponding design and implementation strategies of dubbing software-assisted oral English teaching are put forward to provide some references for primary school English teachers.
