Director’s Statement Of The Documentary The Road To A Well-off

The documentary The road to a well-off takes Zhengrong Xie,the township head of the village of Anshan in Le ’an County,and Lehua Nie,his supporting object,as the main shooting objects,and tells the story of Lehua Nie,the former poor family in the village of Anshan,getting rid of poverty and moving towards a well-off life by means of real records.The film gradually shifted the perspective of the film to Lehua Nie,a poverty-stricken family,through two return visits by Zhengrong Xie.Thanks to the continued support of the poverty-free policy,the Lehua Nie and her family were able to have plenty of time after taking off the poverty hat.In one return visit,she was invited to visit the ecological duck farm of Zhengrong Xie,and a idea to start a business came to her mind.This film aims at showing the new countryside after poverty alleviation.It explains the characters and stories from point to area and shows the improvement of rural life under the process of building a well-off society in an all-round way through the diversified perspectives of different roles and different events.Starting from the creation experience of documentary The road to a well-off society and combining with the creation theory and practice,this paper attempts to elaborate the personal creation concept from three aspects: topic selection planning,mid-term shooting and production editing,and to discuss how the rural areas should move towards the road to a well-off society after getting rid of poverty.
