Study On The Relationships Between Language Ability And Income Of Participants In Nongovernmental Trades At China-Vietnam Border

In border trade,language plays an important role in connecting relations between two countries and communicating the peoples of two countries,however,scholars do not pay much attention to the role of language in border trade,which is specifically reflected in the fact that domestic and foreign countries have not discussed or researched about language-related topics in border trade.Thus,based on a comprehensive analysis of the current status of domestic language proficiency and income research,this study aims at some problems in the existing research,based on the perspective of linguistic economics,using open-ended questionnaires,individual interviews and other research methods that combine qualities to systematically study the relationship between non-governmental traders’ language skills and incomes in Dongxing’ s border trade.conclusions as below:1.The number of languages spoken by the respondents has a significant impact on their income,and there is no country difference;2.Respondents’ comprehensive ability in Putonghua has a significant impact on their income,and there are differences in countries;Vietnamese comprehensive ability has no significant effect on their income,and there is no difference in this conclusion;3.Respondents’ Mandarin reading skill has a significant impact on their income,and there are differences in countries;while listening and speaking skills only have a significant impact on the income of Chinese respondents;4.The study cost of the respondents in Mandarin has a significant impact on its benefit,and there is no difference in country;the learning cost of Vietnamese does not have a significant impact on benefit.It has developed and innovated in the following aspects:1.Explore and preliminary design the survey scale of the relationship between language ability and income of border trade;2.For the first time,the language usages of Vietnamese border people are included in the survey;3.Introduce the measurement model Ordered Logit to the study to initially reveal the relationships between some social variables like gender,age and language ability,income.
