Research On The Newspaper Joint Edition In Modern China(1934-1949)

Affected by the complex media ecology,the living environment of the modern newspaper industry is very poor.Economic difficulties,war destruction,and persecution by the authorities have occurred from time to time.For this reason,many newspapers have chosen joint publishing to overcome the difficulties temporarily.As a product of specific historical conditions,the Newspaper Joint Edition is of great significance throughout the history of the development of China ?s newspaper industry.It not only serves as a testimony of the wartime newspaper community in unison with the enemy,but also provides a viable path for the newspaper industry to respond to the crisis of survival.This article takes the joint edition that frequently appears in the modern newspaper industry as the research object,combs the occurrence of the joint edition of the Chinese newspaper industry since modern times.Then,this article analyzes the impact of media ecology on the joint edition in different periods,and the appearance of the joint edition on the historical process.This article explores how the joint edition gradually become an important mean to cope with the crisis of survival for the newspaper industry,and reveal the reasons for the frequent appearance of the joint edition,and clarify the impact of the joint edition on the development of China’s modern newspaper industry.There are five parts in this article,which are the introduction,the occurrence and context of China’s modern newspaper joint edition,the reasons for the publication of China’s modern newspaper joint edition,and the significance of China’s modern newspaper joint edition and the conclusion.The first part is an introduction.Starting from the research background of this thesis,it clarifies the research background of the joint edition,the research status at home and abroad,research objectives,research methods,research ideas,and the significance and innovation of the topic.The second part introduces the situation of the joint edition newspaper in modern China.This article has collected the original edition and newspaper reports on the joint edition,mainly based on first-hand historical materials,supplemented by local chronicles and newspaper history information,and combed the publish time,the objects of participation,the reasons for the union,the operating status,and the reasons for the edition.The appearance of the joint edition is sorted out in three stages in accordance with the press media ecology and social environment.The third part is the core of this article.The joint edition of newspapers appeared frequently,which was closely related to the complicated business background and media ecology of the newspaper industry at that time,and the reasons for different newspapers to join together were also complicated.This article summarizes the reasons for the emergence of the joint edition in modern China into four categories,namely,economic difficulties through the joint edition to share resources,war destruction through the joint edition to join forces with foreign countries,and public opinion to suppress and oppose under political orders Public opinion restraint and active association due to business needs,use case analysis method to conduct a detailed study on the reasons for the publication of the joint edition.The fourth part explores the significance of the emergence of the joint edition in modern China.Since the modern era,the media ecology facing the newspaper industry has been deteriorating.The emergence of the joint edition has not only improved the survivability of the newspaper industry in response to the crisis,but also became the failure of the trust construction in the 1920 s and 1930 s.A new attempt at the newspaper business model.In the turbulent environment of war,the emergence of the joint edition is also a testimony of the newspapers and the enemy to the outside world.It condenses the reporter’s wisdom of survival by "regarding peace as the most valuable",and also provides a way for the newspaper industry to expand its public opinion space.The fifth part is the conclusion.The joint edition appears frequently,which is closely related to the deterioration of the survival situation of China’s modern newspaper industry.With the help of the joint edition,although newspapers can temporarily overcome difficulties through resource sharing,they cannot fundamentally solve the difficulties in the newspaper business.The emergence and disappearance of the joint edition of the newspaper industry also shows from the side that in the fragile survival situation,the diligent “independence” of the modern Chinese newspaper industry is nothing but an illusion.
