Research On Yan Fu’s Newspaper Practice And Thought

Under the social background of Western learning spreading to the East and saving the nation from subjugation and survival,Yan Fu chose newspapers as a platform to publicize his thoughts.Yan Fu’s modern newspaper practice is the choice of historical function,and his newspaper practice also has an important impact on the promotion of the historical process.Yan Fu’s modern newspaper practice refers to Yan Fu’s newspaper practice activities with the newspaper media as the public opinion platform since modern times.It mainly goes through a23-year time course from 1895 to 1917.It covers many editorial articles in modern newspapers and periodicals such as current affairs,zhongwai daily,diplomatic daily and Ta Kung Pao,reflecting Yan Fu’s communication thought of expressing his ambition with newspapers and periodicals.This paper explores Yan Fu’s modern newspapers and periodicals mainly from two directions: the construction of interpersonal network and the construction of Yan Fu’s practical process of newspaper communication.The existing research on the structure of Yan Fu’s interpersonal relationship network with the modern newspaper in the same period is based on the mapping from an indirect perspective,and lacks the direct network construction centered on Yan Fu.The existing research on Yan Fu’s newspaper practice activities mostly focuses on the process of running the newspaper of Guowen Bao.However,it should be noted that Guowen Bao is only one aspect of Yan Fu’s newspaper practice.In addition,Yan Fu also acts as a writer Social activists and other identities participate in newspaper practice activities such as current affairs daily,Zhongguo daily,diplomatic daily and Ta Kung Pao,and there are great differences in newspaper practice activities engaged in by different identities.The systematic combing of such activities is also an important supplement to Yan Fu’s newspaper activities,thus forming a relatively complete and scientific practical activity system.Based on this,this paper constructs Yan Fu’s modern interpersonal network and the practice process of modern newspapers and periodicals with the supplement of recent literature,and superimposes the two in time and space.On this basis,it summarizes Yan Fu’s thought of newspaper communication,connects social relations and practice with thought,and studies and explores Yan Fu’s modern newspapers and periodicals from a more scientific perspective.Moreover,with the renewal and textual research of Yan Fu’s research materials in recent years,the re combing of Yan Fu’s modern newspapers and periodicals also has a certain supplement and reference function for the recent research.At the level of interpersonal network construction,this paper constructs a one-way firstclass interpersonal network centered on Yan Fu to connect all journalists from two ways: the objective influence brought by the environment and the subjective connection in Yan Fu’s social network.Then it discusses the reasons for the formation of Tianjin public opinion field and the specific communication process between Yan Fu and Liang Qichao,Wang Kangnian,Xia Zengyou,Wang Xiuzhi and hang Xinzhai,so as to reveal the interpersonal context between Yan Fu and modern journalists.At the construction level of Yan Fu’s newspaper communication practice process,based on Yan Fu’s identity orientation in the newspaper practice activities,Yan Fu’s newspaper practice activities are divided into the early newspaper activities in the direct newspaper,the current affairs newspaper and the newspaper practice in the Guowen newspaper during the reform movement of 1898,After the Russo Japanese War,there were three historical periods of newspaper practice in the aspects of Sino foreign daily,diplomatic daily,Huanqiu China student daily and Ta Kung Pao.In the above three historical periods,the newspaper communication practice as a writer,journalist,both writer and social activist had their own characteristics,and the newspaper communication thought of "communicating with China and foreign countries and reaching new knowledge" was formed in the process of practice.Then it constructs the complete process of Yan Fu’s newspaper communication.The research shows that Yan Fu’s thought of newspaper communication formed in the practice of modern newspapers and periodicals mainly includes four aspects: the independent newspaper running policy of seeking "communication",the proposition of "encouraging people’s strength,opening people’s wisdom and new people’s morality",the thought of readers’ segmentation and the understanding of journalists’ professional ethics.The thought of newspaper communication introduced by the thought of communication has emancipated the people’s mind,consolidated the foundation for the people to accept western knowledge,expanded the reader group of newspapers and periodicals It has promoted the process of newspaper specialization.
