IntroductionWith the increasing attention of the society to the mental health of the occupational population,occupational health psychology has also risen.Job performance is an important index to measure the ability and performance of an employee.How to improve the performance of an employee from a psychological perspective has also become an important topic of concern.Mindfulness,as a hot spot of psychological research in recent years,is currently applied in various fields of research.This paper chooses enterprise employees as the research object,and explores the influence of mindfulness on employees’ work performance,as well as the intermediate mechanism of emotional intelligence and coping style.MethodsIn this study,630 employees of enterprises in Beijing,Heilongjiang,Henan,Jiangxi,Shandong and Hunan provinces were surveyed by convenient sampling method.598 questionnaires were collected and 571 valid questionnaires were valid,with an effective rate of 95.48%.The selected questionnaires included:five-factor mindfulness scale(FFMQ),emotional intelligence scale(WLEIS),simple coping style scale(SCSQ),and employee job performance scale(EJPS).Independent sample t test,one-way ANOVA,correlation analysis,regression analysis,mediating effect test and path analysis were used in the study.Results&Conclusions(1)Employees’ mindfulness,emotional intelligence,positive coping style,negative coping style and work performance have significant differences in some demographic variables;(2)There is a significant correlation between two variables of enterprise employees’mindfulness,emotional intelligence,positive coping style and negative coping style and work performance;(3)Employees’ mindfulness,emotional intelligence,positive coping style and negative coping style can significantly predict work performance;(4)Emotional intelligence plays a partial mediating role between employee mindfulness and job performance;(5)Positive coping style plays an intermediary role between employee mindfulness and work performance;(6)Emotional intelligence and positive coping style play a chain mediating role between employee mindfulness and work performance.This study shows that employee mindfulness can directly affect job performance,and indirectly affect job performance through the mediation effect of emotional intelligence and positive coping style and the chain mediation effect of two variables.Therefore,we can improve the employee’s mindfulness,emotional intelligence and positive coping style,thereby improving the employee’s performance and promoting the continuous development of enterprises.
