| With the development of science and technology,scientific and technological exchange among countries is speeding up.It is crucial to notice the transmission of EST(English for Science and Technology).Recently,as a new type of energy technology of inter-connection between electric vehicles and power grid,V2G technology has attracted extensive attention from all sectors of society.Based on an English of energy technology material about V2G,this report discusses the translation skills of such kind of texts under the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory by analyzing the characteristics of this text,so as to improve the translation ability of the translator.This report consists of four parts:task description,translation procedure,case analysis and summary.In the process of translation,in view of a large number of professional terms,acronyms and noun phrases about V2G in the source text,the translator gets the authentic translation version by creating glossary and referring various professional dictionaries,Internet and parallel texts.Under the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory,translation techniques such as division,addition and conversion are adopted to adjust and simplify the sentence structure of the passive voice sentences and long and complex sentences to convey the information of the source text accurately.At the discourse level,functional equivalence between the target text and the source text can be achieved by analyzing particular examples from the aspects of cohesion and coherence.Finally,the translator summarizes that English of energy technology is a branch of EST,which is highly professional,concise and condensed and logical.Therefore,in order to apply various translation strategies and techniques to translation flexibly and convey the information of the source text accurately,translators are required to master not only a great deal of specialized knowledge,but also a good command of translation theories. |
