Being one of the crucial inventions of ancient China,ceramics is a significant component of Chinese civilization as well as an outstanding contribution to the progress and development of human society.The invention and development of ceramics has unique meaning.Dehua,Liling and Jingdezhen are boasted as the three contemporary capitals of ceramics,representing one of the cradles of ceramics culture of the Han.Named after its location,Dehua kiln is a well-known Chinese ancient kiln in Dehua,Fujian Province.Due to the growing artistic interaction,business and trade exchange,the demand of interpreters goes up with this trend.Most of this kind of interpreting belongs to escort interpreting.Known as liaison interpreting,escort interpreting is a common type of interpreting,widely used in business,trade,travel and court,etc.Interpretive Theoryis derived in the late 1960s,introduced by scholars,such as Seleskovitch,Ledererin Universite Paris Three.This thesis is a practice report on the author’s field practice from July 3rd,2016 to July 18th,2016.Based on three processes of Interpretive Theory——comprehension,deverbalization and re-expressing,the author wants to analyze the main problems during interpreting and further summarize the main reasons of these problems.According to the research,two factors mainly influence the quality of escort interpreting:the interpreter and speaker.The factors of interpreter can be decided into:the interpreting ability of interpreters,preparation,on-spot response and knowledge.The factor of speakers may be put down to accent.The following methods can improve the quality of escort interpreting:enhancing the interpreter’s ability,full preparation,improving on-spot response.
