A Report On The Interpreting For Seychelles Delegation’s Visit To Hualing Group-From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

This report is based on the author’s liaison interpreting for the Seychelles delegation’s visit to Guangzhou.During the practice,the author accompanied her guests to visit the air-conditioner workshop of Hualing Group and then attended a meeting both sides held.Under the direction of the Interpretive Theory,the author complied with the principle of “deverbalization” and made some procession to overcome all kinds of difficulties when fulfilling her task,which bettered her performance.The author makes a case study on this interpreting practice.First of all,this paper will give a comprehensive description of this task,including the introduction of the task,process and post-task summary.Then this paper will discuss different interpreting approaches including amplification,changing style,consultation,omission and paraphrasing under the direction of Interpretive Theory.Finally,the paper will make a conclusion.The author hopes,through this paper,to find more ways to promote her interpreting skills and give references to future interpreting workers.
