A Report On The Liaison Interpreting For The Kiev Ballet Performance

In December 2017,the Ukrainian Kiev Ballet was invited to China for a 20-day performance.The interpreter was responsible for liaison interpreting.This paper is a report based on the experience of the liaison interpreting.Based on the interpreting practice,this paper aims to further study the guiding role of interpretive theory in interpreting practice by summarizing the problems faced in the practice and the strategies adopted under the guidance of interpretive theory.This report is guided by the interpretive theory.Through case study,the interpreter summarizes the listening and comprehension problems,language expression problems and cross-cultural communication problems in practice and the strategies adopted under the guidance of the theory.When facing difficulties in listening and comprehension,the interpreter adopts the strategies of guessing and supplement.When facing expression barriers caused by inappropriate expressions and grammatical errors,the interpreter adopts the strategies of language adjustment,reorganization and correction to solve them.When facing cultural communication barriers,she properly gives play to her subjectivity and paraphrases to handle them.The interpreter hopes to provide reference for solving similar problems.
