Junior--Senior English Teaching Consistency,a teaching problem many scholars and experts concern,is also a main theme the author always focuses in these years.As it has frustrated the author in the teaching,some experiments have been made about it by the author in recent teaching practice to prove the influence of Junior--senior English teaching consistency on senior English teaching and this thesis is the result of it.This thesis,mainly based on the Cognitive Theory of Piaget,and the theory of "Zone of Proximal Development" from Vygotsky,aims to discuss the influence of the Junior-Senior English teaching consistency on senior English teaching with the new Curriculum Standard.The research shows that junior--senior English teaching consistency affects senior English teaching and English learning permanently,far more in Senior One and not only in teaching methods and learning strategies but also in learning and teaching materials and the whole process of English learning.It is the deficiency of junior-senior English teaching consistency that makes the students not able to adapt and find out a better way to study in senior in a long time,which impair the senior English teaching.The results of the study suggest that junior--senior English teaching consistency,which has a far-reaching impact on the senior English teaching,is practical and necessary to promote senior English teaching.We can explore the positive influence of it if we can make full use of every possible strength.At the end of the thesis,the author mentions some way to deal with the problem concerning teachers,students and schools.
