Interrogative Study Of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’ Vernacular

In this paper,the interrogative sentence of Nine-Tailed Tortoise is selected as the research material.We described the interrogative sentence in the vernacular manly,and we summed up some characteristics about that time(early Twentieth Century).The article is divided into eight chapters.The introduction part Introduced the general situation of Nine Turtle,including the author,the publication,the edition and the influence.At the same time,we combed through some related research status,and the classification criteria of the interrogative sentence of the novel is briefly introduced.At last,this paper presents the research methods,which are called" Three Planes,Three Combinations "." Three Planes"is syntax,semantics and pragmatics." Three Combinations"is the combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,the combination of synchronic study and diachronic study,and the combination of static description and dynamic interpretation.The main part includes six chapters.In the first chapter,we describe and analyze the yes-no questions of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’vernacular.According to the tone,it’s divided into speculating questions,consulting question and rhetorical question.Rhetorical questions generally are no interrogative modal particle.Which who have interrogative words often used "啘"and have a strong characteristic of Wu dialect.In the second chapter,we describe and analyze the specific questions of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’vernacular.According to the tone，it’s divided into Inquiry questions and rhetorical question.We analyzed the different interrogative pronouns and have a main conclusion that interrogative pronouns in the vernacular retains its own characteristics and the obvious characteristics of mandarin at the same time.In the third chapter,we describe and analyze the specific questions of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’vernacular.According to the tone,it’s divided into Inquiry questions,speculating questions,consulting question and rhetorical question.We analyzed the different interrogative adverbs and have a main conclusion that the semantic domain of "阿" is in the after;"阿" is mutually exclusive to negative words;"阿 VP 勿 VP" is subject to the impact of the Mandarin and so on.In the fourth chapter,we describe and analyze the specific questions of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’vernacular.According to the tone,it’s divided into Inquiry and rhetorical question.Positive rhetorical questions have not occurred or is still in the initial stage of development,and the use of parallel selection questions have absolute advantages.In the fifth chapter,we describe and analyze the Interrogative mood words of Nine-Tailed Tortoise’vernacular.We believes that the need of complicated mood expression,oral language characteristics and ancient&modern tradition is contributed to the vernacular interrogative word compound.In the sixth chapter,we briefly describe and analyze the Pragmatic functions of Nine-Tailed Tortoise ’vernacular.
