In this paper, the typical question types in the Hefei dialect question system are investigated and reclassified, and the characteristics and pragmatic functions of the different question types are summarized. It also compares the features of interrogative sentences with those of Mandarin and other dialect areas, draws out the characteristics and individuality of each, and summarizes the motivation for the formation of the typical interrogative features of the Hefei dialect, providing a partial reference for the study of the Hefei dialect. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this article is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, which introduces the geographical and humanistic overview of the city of Hefei, the Hefei dialect and an overview of the study of interrogative sentences. It also explains the methodology of the paper, the significance of the research, and provides an explanation of the sources and corpora of the corpus. The second part is a study of the Hefei dialect’s "ke" repetitive interrogative. Some of these words have the function of differentiating the meaning of the sentence and even determining the meaning of the interrogative.Tonal stress has a similar effect in the Hefei dialect in the "ke" question. On this basis, the "ke" repetitive interrogatives in the Hefei dialect were regrouped into three categories: "ke VP";"ke VP+sentence-final intonation";and "ke VCV bu C".At the same time, the three types of interrogatives are described in detail on three planes: syntactic, semantic and pragmatic,to clarify the nature of the various types of "ke" repeated interrogatives in the Hefei dialect. The third part is a study of the specific interrogatives of the Hefei dialect. The results of the analysis of the descriptive method show that it is mainly reflected in the differences in the form of interrogative pronouns, which have seven main types of interrogative domains: asking about who, what, when, where, how, why and how.Different interrogative domains are questioned by different interrogative pronouns.Linguistically,in addition to the usual interrogative function, the Hefei dialect has three other special functions: the ’description’ and ’reference’ functions of the interrogative pronoun, the rhetorical function of the interrogative pronoun and the mixed use of interrogative types.Semantically, interrogative pronouns,sentence-final intonation and interrogative intonation all have an impact on the focus of questioning in ad hoc interrogative sentences. The fourth part is a study of selected interrogatives in the Hefei dialect.By describing its formal features in detail, the semantic relations between the choice items and the different effects of the different semantic relations on the form of the choice interrogative are identified. The Hefei dialect is also compared with Mandarin to show that there is a correspondence between the special position and the special pragmatic use of the choice items in the Hefei dialect double choice questions, and the formal features of the special position and the semantic features exhibited by the special pragmatic use.The fifth section is a study of the Hefei dialect with questions on the topic. It differs in form from the Mandarin topic question with the inflections "lai" and "ne",and has two types of topic components,NP and VP.The inflections differ so that topic questions with different components can appear in the first question position of autonomous questions,in the beginning question and in the post-complementary position in dialogue. The different sentence positions in turn determine the semantics of the different constituent topics asked. At the same time, the connection between the topic question in context and the surrounding utterances can also show its connection with other question types, and thus the derivation of the Hefei dialect topic question can be inferred. The sixth part is a study of the Hefei dialect with additional questions. Its form can be divided into a non-questionable part and a table-questionable part. There are only four types of form for the doubtful part of the form: the "ke X" form, the "X +intonation" form, the exclamatory form and the abbreviated form. And the non-questioning part can be filled by any sentence type other than a question. The linguistic function of additional questions in Hefei dialect is mainly manifested in two aspects: conversational communication and discourse coherence. The degree of questioning and the principle of politeness have different effects on the form and function. The seventh part is a study of question words in the Hefei dialect.Common question words in the Hefei dialect are: "lai","me","bo","an" and "han".The semantic function of "lai" is the most diverse,as it can be used at the end of different types of questions to express a variety of semantic functions, such as tense and anticipation. In addition, the intonation words of the Hefei dialect can be compared with those of other official dialects to explore their origins and relationships.Section 8 concludes the paper by summarising the main conclusions of the previous paper and identifying the shortcomings of the paper.
