| The difficulty of learning a language is largely due to the language itself.In recent years,"Chinese fever" has swept the world,more and more people are learning Chinese in various countries,including Thailand.Although there are a lot of people learning Chinese in Thailand,the situation of learners mastering Chinese is not very optimistic.Especially of modal verbs in Chinese,the Thai Chinese learners know the significance and usage of Chinese modal verb,but sometimes they can’t use them correctly in communication,and "Neng" also become one of the difficulties during the Thai learners learning Chinese.Based on collecting a large number of corpus and refering to the results of previous studies,I investigated the syntactic features of the modal verb "Neng" in modern Chinese,and made a comparative analysis of the core meaning of Chinese modal verb "Neng" and Thai auxiliary "(?)(Dai)",so as to find out the similarities and differences between the two languages.I hope that through the comparative analysis,the Thai Chinese learners can make an accurate and clear understanding of the meaning and usage of modal verbs in Chinese,at the same time,it is also helpful to the teaching of the whole course.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction part.Mainly introduces the research object,research methods,research purpose,significance and literature review.In addition,it illustrates the source of corpus and the main contents of the thesis.The second part is an overview of the previous studies in China and Thailand,mainly illustrated from the aspects of definition,usage and syntactic features.The third part is a comparative analysis of similarities and differences of Chinese modal verb "Neng" and Thai auxiliary "(?)(Dai)" in syntactic structure,semantics and pragmatics.The fourth part,through the analysis of Thai Chinese learners’ error,make recommendations from the Chinese teaching,teachers,teaching materials and other aspects.The fifth part is the summary,induction and arrangement of the article content. |
