Research On Evaluation And Promotion Strategy Of Hospital Scientific Research Level From The Perspective Of Paper Output ——A Case Study Of Tertiary Hospitals In Henan Province

ObjectiveScientific research papers are an important part of scientific research achievements in medical and health system,and their quantity and quality can reflect the scientific research level of hospitals.Hospital scientific research management level plays an important role in hospital management.The improvement of scientific research management level can promote the improvement of hospital scientific research level,so as to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of the hospital in the industry.Therefore,this study mainly evaluates the level of hospital scientific research from the perspective of paper output,so as to explore the strategies for improving the level of hospital scientific research.MethodsIn this study,20 tertiary hospitals in Henan province were selected by convenience sampling method.Using the method of bibliometrics,combining the design of evaluation indexes of paper output by domestic and foreign scholars and the principle of data accessibility,the paper sorted out 10 indexes for evaluation of paper output.It includes 7primary indicators（number of domestic academic journal papers,citation frequency,number of foundation papers,download frequency,H index,number of Peking University core journals published,number of SCI papers）and 3 derivative indicators（per citation frequency,proportion of foundation papers,per download frequency）.The statistical analysis and evaluation database of hospital scientific research achievements,developed by CNKI,was used to collect relevant indexes of papers from 20 hospitals from 2012 to October 11,2021.The paper output of 20 hospitals was evaluated by descriptive analysis and principal component analysis in SPSS 21.0 software.ResultsThe number of domestic academic journal papers,download frequency,fund papers,the number of Peking University core journals and SCI papers in each hospital increased year by year,but the citation frequency was relatively low in recent years.The top five hospitals in the number of fund papers in domestic journals in recent 10 years were 6879,4832,3793,1875 and 1756 respectively.The results of principal component analysis showed that the hospital’s scientific research level was mainly related to the number of domestic academic journal papers,citation frequency,number of funded papers,download frequency,H-index,number of Peking University core journals published,and number of SCI papers.Considering the significance represented by these indicators,the improvement of hospital scientific research level includes not only the quantity of papers,but also the quality of papers.The results of principal component analysis were used to rank the hospitals.According to the ranking,it was found that the scientific research level of the hospitals was also related to the level of funding,talents and scientific research knowledge.ConclusionHospitals should strengthen the construction of talent team,strengthen policy guidance,increase the training of scientific research related knowledge,improve the scientific research ability of medical staff,pay attention to the combination of quality and quantity of papers,so as to improve the level of scientific research.
