Objective:To compare the efficacy of imiquimod 5%cream combined with fire needle therapy and imiquimod 5%cream alone in treatment of verruca planae. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on Patients with Verruca planae diseases who were hospitalized at First Affiliated Hospital of Dali University,Yunnan province,P.R.China.It was done during the period of December 2017 to December 2019.There were about 100 patients included in the study. The diagnosis of flat warts is usually based on clinical symptoms:apical papules, minimal scale, and a slight elevation of 2 to 4mm in diameter of the papules.Clinically involved in face, especially in children, neck, back of hands, arms legs and beard area in men who shave. After the diagnosisof verruca plana all patients received treatment of imiquimod 5%cream and fire needle therapy.Information including age, sex, site of lesion, seasonal variation, side effects were recorded. Results:The study was performed on 100 patients(43 males and 57 females),Verruca plana was commonly found in age between(25-35 years)age and least likely in age greater than or equal to 55 years of age.The youngest in the 5 years old child and the oldest patient was 55 years old.The mean age of patients was 29.26 years.Girls had a higher incidence rate(female:male 57:43)They could be found all the year-round but they were more frequent in winter and spring. It was statistically not significant(P-value 0.096).Verruca plana was mostly found 25-35 years of age.Altogether,43 patients were male and 57 patients were female. In the Imiquimod combined with fire needle group, there were 40%male and 60%female while in the imiquimod therapy group, there were 50%male and 50%female.Frequency and percentage of male and females among different treatment groups(P-value 0.355)which is statistically not significant.Imiquimod 5%cream combined with fire needle therapy given for total 70 patients fully recovered was 55 that is 78.57%and partial recovery was 15 that is 21.42%Similarly Imiquimod 5%cream alone given for total 30 patients fully recovered was 20 that is 66.7%and remaining partial recovery was 10 that is 33.3%.Frequency and percentage of recovery of patients in both treatment group(P-value 0.208)which is statistically not significant. Conclusion:In conclusion of my findings of my study we conclude that the treatment of imiquimod and fire needle is almost same whereas in comparison of both imiquimod compare with fire needle was found to be more effective than imiquimod alone.Imiquimod 5%cream combined with fire needle therapy applied for total 70 patients out of which 55 patients recovered and remaining 15 patients was not recovered.Similarly,In other case, imiquimod 5%cream applied for total 30 patients out of which 20 patients recovered and remaining 10 patients not recovered. So for better result imiquimod combined with fire needle shows more efficacy than imiquimod alone during comparison among this two treatment hence proved...
