| Objective:To discuss the expression level and clinical significance of HIF-1α and VEGF in the serum of adult patients with sudden sensorineural hearing loss. Methods:The research objects were 62 subjects meeting the inclusion criteria and selected from the Otolaryngology Department of The Fourth Hospital of Changsha from October 2019 to March 2020,among which31 patients with SSNHL were served as the observation group while the other 31 healthy people having a physical examination were served as the control group.Enzyme linked immunosorbentassay(ELISA)was applied to detect the serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of the two groups. The differences of serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels between the two groups were compared,as well as the influence of ages, genders, smoking experience, severity of hearing loss and treatment effects on the serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of the observation group. In addition, the varying difference of serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of the patients with different prognostic levels in the observation group after combination therapy was also compared,so as to explore the influence and effect of HIF-1α and VEGF expression levels on adult patients with SSNHL.Results:1.The serum HIF-1α level of the observation group was obviously higher than that of the control group, and the difference proved a statistically significance(P<0.05);However,there was no significant difference in serum VEGF level between the observation group and the control group(P > 0.05).2.There was no significant correlation between the expression of serum HIF-1α and VEGF in adult patients with SSNHL(P>0.05);3.In the observation group, the serum VEGF level of the elder-group patents(at the age of 40 or above)was obviously lower than that of young-group patients(under the age of 40),and the difference had a statistical significance(P<0.05);while there was no significant difference between the serum HIF-1α levels of the elder-group patients(at the age of 40 or above)and young-group patients(under the age of 40),and the result did not prove a statistical significance(P>0.05);4.In the observation group, the serum HIF-1α level of patients with smoking experience was significantly increased compared with patients without smoking experience, and the difference proved a statistically significance(P<0.05);However,there was no significant difference in serum VEGF level between patients with smoking experience and patients without smoking experience, and the result did not prove a statistical significance(P > 0.05).5.The difference in the serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels among adult SSNHL patients of different genders and hearing-loss degrees did not prove a statistical significance(P>0.05).6.In the observation group, there was no significant difference in serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels between the effective group(Treatment is effective)and ineffective group(Treatment is ineffective)before treatment, and the result did not prove a statistical significance(P > 0.05);7.In the observation group, the serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of the effective group(Treatment is effective)were significantly decreased after treatment, and the difference had a statistical significance(P < 0.05);but the serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels in the ineffective group(Treatment is ineffective)had no significant difference after treatment, and the result did not have a statistical significance(P > 0.05).Conclusion:1.The variation of serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of adult patients with SSNHL may be related to the etiological mechanism of the disease;2.The expression level of VEGF is correlated with the ages of adult patients with SSNHL,and the expression level of HIF-1α has correlation with the smoking experience of patients;3.There may exist a certain correlation between the variation of serum HIF-1α and VEGF levels of adult patients with SSNHL and the outcome and prognosis of the disease. |
