| Objective:Observe the clinical effect of iRoot BP Plus in forming an apical barrier on unclosed apical foramen teeth in adults, and provide a basis for clinically selecting appropriate treatment methods for unclosed apical foramen teeth. Methods: Selected 46 adults with unclosed apical foramen teeth from the Department of Endodontics and Endodontics,Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Anhui Medical University from August 2018 to September 2020 as observation objects. After root canal preparation and root canal disinfection, when the infection of the tooth is controlled,iRoot BP Plus is delivered to the apical area with a vertical pressurizer and gently pressurized to form a apical barrier> 3mm.Then,X-rays were taken to confirm the quality of the barrier formation, and a sterile wet cotton ball was placed in the upper and middle section of the root canal for temporary filling.Follow up 2 days later, remove the temporary seal with a sterile high-speed ball drill. After confirming under the microscope that the apical barrier is fully cured, the middle and upper root canal is filled and the crown is repaired.Follow-up observations were conducted at 3,6,and 12 months after the treatment.Evaluate clinical efficacy based on patients’ symptoms, clinical examinations, and imaging examinations. Then, analyze the effect of iRoot BP Plus filling situation and the different root tip shapes of the affected tooth on the curative effect.Results:(1)The effective rates at 3,6,and 12 months after treatment were 80.4%,87.0%,and 93.5%;(2)There is no statistical difference in the effective rate between iRoot BP Plus overfilling and justfilling;(3)Three different root tip shapes such as flared, parallel and cohesive have no significant effect on the effective rate of treatment. Conclusion: iRoot BP Plus forms a apical barrier when applied to adult teeth with unclosed apical foramen and has a good clinical effect.A small amount of overfill will not affect the healing of the periapical tissue. |
