ObjectiveCombined acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine hot compress and biofeedback electrical stimulation were used to treat postpartum stress urinary incontinence of Qi-deficiency type and its clinical therapeutic effect was observed.MethodsIn this study,a completely randomized design clinical trial was adopted.A total of 60 cases were enrolled in the obstetrics and gynecology outpatient department of the People’s Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the integrated pelvic floor medical working station. All the enrolled cases met the research criteria: mild and moderate qi deficiency postpartum stress urinary incontinence.According to the random number table method,60 cases were randomly divided into stratified groups,30 cases in the observation group and 30 cases in the control group. The control group was only treated with biofeedback electrical stimulation, while the observation group was treated with acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine hot compress and biofeedback electrical stimulation combined treatment, twice a week,10 times as a course of treatment. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared before treatment and after 1 course of treatment. The observation indicators included pelvic floor surface EMG value,TCM syndrome score,ICI-Q-SF score,TCM syndrome efficacy and clinical symptom efficacy.Three months after the end of treatment, all the enrolled patients were followed up and the efficacy was observed. The observation indicators included urinary incontinence quality of life(I-QOL)score and pelvic organ prolapse/urinary incontinence sexual function questionnaire(PISQ-12)score.After the end of the clinical trial, the above observation indexes were statistically analyzed and compared.Results1.After treatment, the analysis and comparison of the pelvic floor surface EMG values of the two groups showed that the mean value of the anterior resting stage and the mean value of the posterior resting stage were decreased compared with that before treatment, and the measured values of the pelvic floor surface EMG values of the other stages(the maximum value of the rapid contraction stage, the mean value of the tension contraction stage and the mean value of the endurance contraction stage)were increased compared with that before treatment. The improvement of pelvic floor surface EMG in the observation group was better than that in the control group after treatment(all P<0.05).2.After treatment, the TCM syndrome score and ICI-Q-SF score in both groups were lower than those before treatment(both P<0.05),and the observation group was better than the control group in reducing the above scores(both P<0.05).3.The total effective rate of TCM syndromes and clinical symptoms in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(both P<0.05).4.Three months after the end of treatment, the I-QOL score and PISQ-12 score were increased in both groups(both P<0.05),and the quality of life and sexual life in the observation group were better than those in the control group.ConclusionCombined application of acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine hot compress and biofeedback electrical stimulation can effectively improve the syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine qi deficiency in postpartum stress urinary incontinence patients, promote the recovery of pelvic floor surface myoelectric value, benefit to the recovery of pelvic floor muscle function in postpartum mild and moderate stress urinary incontinence patients, improve the quality of life and sexual life quality.
