Effects Of Proximal And Distal Acupuncture On Pelvic Floor Muscles In Postpartum Stress Urinary Incontinence | | Posted on:2022-08-05 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Y Liu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2504306485953459 | Subject:Acupuncture and Massage | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture at proximal and distal points on pelvic floor muscle strength in postpartum urinary incontinence patients.Methods:The 90 patients who treated for 4 weeks were divided into proximal acupuncture group,distal acupuncture group and control group.International consultation on incontinence questionnaire urinary incontinence short form,incontinence quality of life instrument,Glazer assessment were scored and detected in all three groups before and 4 weeks after treatment.The correlation between the scale,the muscle strength and the therapeutic effect was analyzed.Results:(1)Evaluation result of International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Urinary Incontinence Short Form(ICIQ-SF)showed that the ICIQ-SF scores of the three groups were improved after 4 weeks of treatment.There were significant differences between before and after treatment in the three group(P<0.05).There were significant differences between proximal acupuncture group and control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences between distal acupuncture group and control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between proximal acupuncture group and distal acupuncture group(P>0.05).(2)Evaluation result of Incontinence Quality of Life Instrument(I-QOL)showed that there were significant differences between before and after treatment in three groups(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between proximal acupuncture group and control group(P>0.05).There were no significant differences between distal acupuncture group and control group(P>0.05).There were no significant differences between proximal acupuncture group and distal group(P>0.05).(3)Evaluation result of Glazer assessment showed that there were significant differences between before and after treatment in three groups(P<0.05).There were significant differences between proximal acupuncture group and control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences between distal acupuncture group and control group(P<0.05).There was significant difference between proximal acupuncture group and distal acupuncture group about the complex muscle and the slow muscle(P<0.05),but no significant difference about the fast muscle(P<0.05).(4)Evaluation result of correlation analysis showed that the uterine prolapse of higher pelvic floor muscle strength was less.The urinary incontinence and impact on life of higher pelvic floor muscle strength was less.The better the Glazer and ICIQ-SF scores before treatment,the better the outcome.Conclusions:(1)Both proximal and distal acupuncture combined with Kegel exercise can effectively improve the symptoms of postpartum urinary incontinence.Acupuncture combined with Kegel exercise is better than Kegel exercise in improving urinary incontinence.The effect of proximal acupuncture on pelvic floor muscle strength in patients with postpartum urinary incontinence was better than that of distal acupuncture.(2)The severity of uterine prolapse in postpartum Stress incontinence was negatively correlated with pelvic floor muscle strength.Weak pelvic floor muscle can lead to severe uterine prolapse.The ICIQ-SF score was negatively correlated with pelvic floor muscle strength.Weak pelvic floor muscle leads to severe urinary incontinence.The curative effect is related to the comprehensive evaluation before treatment.Excellent Glazer assessment and the ICIQ-SF score provide significant therapeutic benefits. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | proximal acupuncture, distal acupuncture, PSUI, pelvic floor muscles | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
