Objective:To observe the TCM syndrome scores, consulting room blood pressure, ambulatory blood pressure, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index changes in patients with Liver yang hyperactivity type treated with Latent Yang antihypertensive formula combined with western medicine, and to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Latent Yang antihypertensive formula. Methods:Seventy patients with liver yang hyperactivity type hypertension were included in this study, two cases were fell off and one case was removed during clinical observation, and 67 cases were finally included in the statistics, including 34 cases in the observation group and 33 cases in the control group. The control group was treated with oral valsartan amlodipine tablets, and the observation group was treated with latent Yang blood pressure lowering formula on the basis of the control group, with a 4-week course in both groups.Statistical analyses were used to compare the TCM syndrome scores, consulting room blood pressure, ambulatory blood pressure(24-h mean blood pressure, rate of nocturnal blood pressure reduction, blood pressure load, and coefficient of variation of blood pressure),and Pittsburgh sleep quality before and after treatment Changes in indices such as the index.Results:1.There were no significant differences between the two groups before treatment in terms of age, gender, family history, smoking history, drinking history,TCM syndrome score, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(all P>0.05),which were comparable.2.Comparison of TCM syndrome efficacy: the total effective rate was 94.1% in the observation group and 54.5% in the control group, and TCM syndrome efficacy in the observation group was superior to that in the control group(P<0.05).3.Comparison of TCM syndrome scores:the TCM syndrome scores decreased after treatment in both groups compared with those before treatment, and the improvement of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).4.Comparison of single item symptom scores: The scores of each single item TCM symptom in the observation group after treatment were decreased and better than those in the control group before treatment(all P<0.05),The scores of individual symptoms in the control group in terms of vertigo, headache pain, irritability, insomnia, face redness and conjunctive congestion were improved compared with those before treatment(all P<0.05),however,no improvement was observed in terms of dry mouth, and bitter taste, tinnitus, aching of the waist and knee of the waist and knees(all P>0.05).5.Comparison of consulting room blood pressure after treatment:consulting room BP improved more in both groups after treatment than before treatment, and the improvement was better in the observation group(all P<0.05)than in the control group after treatment, while the BP compliance rate after treatment was higher in the observation group(94.12% >81.82%),but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).6.Comparison of ambulatory blood pressure after treatment: The mean 24-h systolic and diastolic blood pressure,24-h systolic and diastolic blood pressure loads,24-h systolic and diastolic blood pressure coefficients of variation, and the rate of fall in night time blood pressure in both groups improved compared with pretreatment values(all P<0.05);The observation group was more effective than the control group in improving the 24-h mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure, the 24-h diastolic blood pressure load, the 24-h diastolic blood pressure coefficient of variation, and the rate of nocturnal blood pressure drop(all P<0.05);The observation group had a greater reduction in the improvement in 24-h SBP load and in the coefficient of variation of 24-h SBP than the treatment group, although there was no significant difference between the two groups(all P>0.05).7.Comparison of Pittsburgh sleep quality index: The Pittsburgh sleep quality index decreased after treatment in both groups compared with before treatment, and the observation group improved better than the control group(all P<0.05).8.Safety comparison: no patient in either group experienced allergic reactions and adverse reactions related to the drugs in this subject during the course of the study. Conclusion: latent Yang blood pressure lowering formula can effectively improve the TCM syndrome, blood pressure level, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index in patients with Liver yang hyperactivity type hypertension, with a relatively good safety and clinical promotion value.
