Cardiac neurosis is a complex and varied condition in which patients often suffer from palpitations, chest tightness, fatigue, insomnia, and shortness of breath without evidence of organic pathology. The lack of specific indicators for this disease makes clinical diagnosis&treatment difficult, which not only causes great psychological burden to patients, but also leads to excessive consumption of medical resources. This disease often occurs in females, and there are more mental workers than manual workers. With the development of society and the increase of life pressure, the incidence of cardiac neurosis is on the rise.In modern medicine,sedatives,β-blockers and autonomic neuromodulators are often used for treatment, with many side effects and adverse reactions. So far, there is no effective and long-lasting treatment plan.As a non-drug therapy, acupuncture has the advantages of simplicity and cost-effectiveness,and it has advantages in the treatment of functional diseases.Based on more than 30 years of clinical experience,my tutor,Professor Chen Feng, optimized the selection of the "Chen’s Ding Ji Group Acupoints" for the treatment of heart and spleen deficiency type cardiac neurosis by Qiuxu,Zhaohai,Shenmen and Zusanli. The objective of this study is to observe the effectiveness of acupuncture points of "Chen’s Ding Ji Group Acupoints "in the treatment of cardiac neurosis of the heart and spleen deficiency type, with a view to providing a new way of clinical treatment.1 Research objectiveTo assess the therapeutic effect of "Chen’s Ding Ji Group Acupoints",which was developed by my tutor with more than 30 years of clinical experience,in treating cardiac neurosis of the heart and spleen deficiency type, and to discuss the value of the therapy for clinical application.2 Research methodsThis study adopts a prospective, randomized controlled trial design method. The 66 patients with cardiac neurosis were randomly and equally split into a test group and a control group of 33 patients each based on the random number table method. The acupuncture acupoints of the experimental group were:"Chen’s DingJi Group Acupoints "(Qiuxu,Zhaohai and Shenmen,Zusanli),while the control group was the acupoints recommended by "Twelfth Five-Year" national planning textbook"Acupuncture and Moxibustion".Common acupoints for central palpitations:Neiguan,Shenmen,Ximen,Xinshu,Juque,Pishu,Zusanli.Treatment was performed 3 times a week for 6 weeks. The TCM Syndrome Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale and Hamilton Anxiety Scale were utilized as observation indexes to assess patients’conditions before and after treatment. All data were statistically analysed using SPSS.22.0 statistical software during the study. The chi-square test was used for count data. The t-test or rank sum test was adopted for measurement data. The rank sum test was adopted for rank data.Differences were considered statistically significant with P<0.05.3 Research results3.1 Baseline dataThis study included patients who were clearly diagnosed with cardiac neurosis in the Department of Acupuncture and Cardiology of Wangjing Hospital from January 2020 to December 2020.During the treatment,1 case in both the experimental group and the control group could not persist in participating in the study and dropped out.Hence, the final number of participants in this study was 32 in the test group and 32 in the control group. The mean age of patients was 49.36±10.21 years old,and the average duration of disease was 12.09±4.34 months. The average score of the TCM Syndrome Scale was 17.77±3.40,the average score of HAMD was 16.14±4.85,and the average score of HAMA was 17.00±4.04.The data on gender, age, duration of illness, total and sub-symptom scores on the TCM Symptom Scale,HAMD scores and HAMA scores of the patients in the test and control groups were statistically analyzed respectively. The results indicated that the differences between the groups were not statistically significant and that the baseline information was comparable between the two data groups.3.2 Results of clinical efficacy comparisonAfter treatment, patients in both groups showed improvement in their TCM symptoms, with the test group showing more significant improvement. The main symptoms of palpitations, chest tightness or pain, shortness of breath and secondary symptoms of insomnia, dizziness, forgetfulness, spontaneous sweating, fatigue and lack of appetite were all improved in the test group. In the control group, except for the lack of appetite, other symptoms were also improved.Patients’ total scores on the HAMD and HAMA scales decreased to varying degrees compared to pre-treatment.The decrease was greater in the test group.Observing the overall curative effect of the two groups of patients,The effective rate of TCM symptom score was 90.6%in the test group and 71.8%in the other group. The score reduction rate of HAMD was 90.6%in the test group,81.3%in the control group,93.8%in the HAMA score reduction rate in the test group, and 84.4%in the control group. That is,the efficacy of the experimental group was better than that of the other group in treating the patients’TCM symptoms and depression and anxiety.During the study, neither group of patients had any adverse events.4 ConclusionAcupuncture of the "Chen’s Ding Ji Group Acupoints "and the acupoints recommended by the textbook are both effective and safe in the treatment of cardiac neurosis with deficiency of both the heart and the spleen. The clinical efficacy of acupuncture of "Chen’s Ding Ji Group Acupoints" in curing cardiac neurosis of the heart and spleen deficiency type is more significant than that of the recommended group of acupuncture points in the textbook.
