Objective:To explore whether asthmatic patients have characteristic ocular changes and their influencing factors, and their correlation with the severity of the disease and the history of the disease,so as to provide a new basis for the diagnosis of asthma. Methods: A total of 200 patients suffered stable bronchial asthma who received inpatient or outpatient treatment in the respiratory and critical ward of our hospital from December 2018 to November 2020 were enrolled as asthma group.A total of 200 healthy subjects were collected as the control group. The subjects in both groups were photographed and analyzed by special personnel: black eye classification, scleral blue percentage, serum iron, ferritin levels and lung function indexes were measured.SPSS26.0 was used for statistical analysis of the collected relevant data. Results: 1.There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age and body weight between asthma group and control group(p>0.05).2.Compared with the control group, dark eye circles and percentage of blue sclera were higher in the asthma group, and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05),indicating that patients with bronchial asthma have characteristic ocular and halo changes.3.The differences in allergy history and family history of asthma between the asthma group and the control group were statistically significant(p <0.05),patients with a family history of asthma or allergic history had a higher level of dark circles and a higher percentage of blue sclera.4.The difference of serum iron and ferritin between asthma group and control group was statistically significant. The percentage of blue sclera was negatively correlated with serum iron and ferritin, while dark eye circles had no correlation with serum iron agent ferritin.5.There were statistically significant differences in lung function indexes between asthma group and control group,FEV1/FVC%,MMEF%pre,and there was a negative correlation between FEV1/FVC%,MMEF%pre and dark eye circles and blue sclera.6.The grade of dark eye circles and percentage of blue sclera were positively correlated with the severity and course of asthma.Conclusion:1.The eyes of patients with bronchial asthma have characteristic changes, manifested as: dark eye circles and blue sclera.2.Dark eye circles are related to allergic history and family history of asthma.blue sclera is related to iron metabolism, allergy history and family history of asthma.3.The pulmonary function indexes FEV1/FVC% and MMEF%PRE were negatively correlated with dark eye circles and blue sclera.4.Dark eye circles and blue sclera can reflect the history and severity of asthma to some extent.
