| Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Liangxue Huayu Recipe combined with intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drugs(Corbercept)in the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration(AMD).Methods: According to the random number table method,20 patients with wet AMD in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of traditional Chinese medicine were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group(20 eyes)received intravitreal injection of conbercept,and took Liangxue Huayu Decoction for 14 days as a course of treatment,according to the patient’s condition,each course was separated by 3-5 days,and continued for 3 months;The control group(20 eyes)was treated with intravitreal injection of conbercept once a month for 3 consecutive times without taking Chinese medicine decoction.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and central macular thickness(CMT)were observed and compared at 1 month,3months and 6 months after treatment(follow-up).Results:1.Comparison of BCVA(Log MAR)between the two groups: After 1month of treatment,the BCVA of the two groups were improved,from 0.60±0.26 to 0.52 ± 0.27 in the control group and from 0.73±0.31 to 0.64±0.27 in the experimental group,and the difference was not statistically significant.After 3 and 6 months of treatment,BCVA was improved in both groups,0.46 ± 0.16 and 0.34 ± 0.14 in the two groups after 3 months of treatment,and 0.40±0.14 and 0.28±0.13 in the two groups after 6 months of treatment,respectively.It reached the best at 3 months of treatment,and the BCVA of the experimental group increased significantly compared with the control group;and the BCVA of the experimental group after 3 months and 6months of treatment were significantly higher than those of the control group,and the difference had statistical significance(P < 0.05).2.Comparison of central macular retinal thickness(CMT): After 1month of treatment,the CMT values of the two groups were compared and found to decrease,from 494.50±12.43μm to 454.56±23.03μm in the control group and from 486.73±23.14μm to 455.16±22.58μm in the experimental group,and the difference was not statistically significant.After 3 and 6months of treatment,the CMT of the two groups decreased,406.39 ±19.26μm and 335.84±19.24μm in the two groups after 3 months of treatment,and 374.38 ± 21.21μm and 261.00 ± 20.19μm in the two groups after 6months of treatment.The CMT values after 3 and 6 months of treatment in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the difference had statistical significance(P < 0.05).3.Comparison of the times of intravitreal injection: Within 6 months of the follow-up period,the comparison of the times of intravitreal injection between the two groups showed that the average times of injection were 3.5times in the control group and 3.1 times in the experimental group,and the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05),but the average times of injection in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group.4.Comparison of complications: Within 6 months of follow-up,2 cases in the control group had mild bulbar conjunctival hemorrhage,and the congestion disappeared after 2 days of levofloxacin eye drops.During the follow-up period,no serious complications such as ocular hypertension,endophthalmitis,retinal detachment and systemic adverse reactions occurred in both groups.Conclusion :1.Liangxue Huayu Recipe combined with intravitreal injection of conbercept is more effective than intravitreal injection of conbercept alone in the treatment of patients with wet AMD,and has certain advantages in improving visual acuity and reducing foveal retinal thickness.2.In this study,although there was no statistically significant difference in the number of injections between the two groups,the average number of intravitreal injections in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group.3.The treatment of wet AMD with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine fully embodies the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine.Compared with long-term injection of anti-VEGF drugs,it has good short-term efficacy,safety and convenience,and is worthy of clinical promotion. |
