| Objective: Observe the therapeutic effect of pulsed micro-current acupoint stimulation technique in the patients with chronic insomnia accompanied by anxiety and depression. Methods: Inpatients who met the diagnostic criteria for chronic insomnia at the Sleep Medicine Center of the First People’s Hospital of Yunnan Province from January to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects. After screening according to the study’s selection and exclusion criteria,a total of 62 patients were included in the study. All subjects were divided into an observation group(32 cases)and a control group(35 cases)by a simple random method. The patients of observation group were given conventional treatment for insomnia and plus pulsed micro-current acupoint stimulation treatment, and the patients of control group were given conventional therapy alone. The treatment period is 7 days and follow-up observation period is 30 days. All subjects underwent all-night polysomnography which use cardiopulmonary coupling technology before treatment and repeated on the 7th day of treatment. Before treatment and on the 7th,14 th,and 30 th days after treatment,Pittsburgh sleep quality Index(PSQI),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Patien Health Questionnare(PHQ-9),Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD-7)be evaluated during the follow-up period, and observe the occurrence of adverse reactions after treatment.Corresponding data were collected for statistical analysis, and the differences in the polysomnography parameters, sleep quality index and mood scale scores between the two groups of subjects at before and at different time points after treatment were compared. Results: There was no statistical difference between the two groups of subjects in terms of age distribution, gender ratio, education level, job categories, and duration of illness. The polysomnography(PSG)parameters and the scores of PSQI,HAMD,PHQ-9,GAD-7 before treatment were not statistically different between the two groups(all P>0.05),and the HAMA score of the observation group was higher than Control group(P<0.01).Compared with before treatment, the sleep latency and the number of sleep awakenings of the two groups of subjects from PSG were significantly reduced on the 7th day of treatment, and the proportion of stable sleep time of the observation group increased significantly, but did not increase in the control group. The scores of PSQI,HAMD,PHQ-9,HAMA,GAD-7 of the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment.Comparing the observation group with the control group, there was no difference in the sleep efficiency, the proportion of REM sleep time and the PSQI score after 7 days of treatment, but the sleep latencyof the observation group was shorter than the sleep latency of control group(2.3 minutes v 26.5 minutes),and the proportion of stable sleep time at the observation group was higher than at the control group(38.1%)v 25%)(P<0.01).The evaluation was conducted at different time points during the 30-day observation period, the scores of the PSQI,HAMD,PHQ-9,HAMA,GAD-7 of the two groups of subjects showed a gradual decrease with the passage of time after treatment, but it was more obvious in the observation group, and there was still a statistical difference between the value on the 30 th day and the 14 th day(P<0.05).However,the decrease of score of these scales was slowly in the control group after the 14 th day,and the value on the 30 th day and the 14 th day was no statistical difference(P>0.05).In comparison between the two groups,on the 14 th and 30 th day after treatment, the scores of these scales in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The two groups were compared with the curative effect evaluated by the PSQI scale reduction rate after treatment, the effective rateof the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(65.6% v 30.0%)(P<0.01),and the total effective rateis also better than the control group(90.6% v80.0%).There were no cases of occurred partial or systemic adverse reactions in the two groups of subjects during the 30-day observation. Conclusion: Pulse micro-current acupoint stimulation therapy can shorten sleep latency, increase the proportion of stable sleep, reduce the number of awakenings during sleep, improve subjective sleep quality and anxiety and depression scores, and this effect can last up to 30 days after treatment. The clinical effect of combined pulsed micro-current acupoint stimulation therapy is better than that of conventional therapy alone, and there are no obvious side effects and adverse reactions.Pulse micro-current acupoint stimulation technology is an effective non-drug treatment method for chronic insomnia, and it has a good clinical application prospect. |
