| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Shenqi Dihuang Decoction in treating cancer-related fatigue(CRF)of lung cancer and explore the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating CRF.Methods:Sixty patients with lung cancer were selected from Weifang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital according to diagnostic criteria,inclusion criteria,exclusion criteria,etc.They were randomly divided into the control group and treatment group by a ratio of 1:1,with 30 cases in each group.The control group received only basic treatment,while the treatment group received basic treatment plus oral administration of Shenqi Dihuang Decoction.The observation period was two weeks.The short-term curative effect and safety of Shenqi Dihuang Decoction on CRF of lung cancer were evaluated through the statistical differences between the two groups in the curative effect observation indexes.Results:None of the 60 patients included in this study fell off.During the treatment period,no specific changes such as blood routine,urine routine,stool routine,electrocardiogram,liver and kidney function,etc.occurred.Before treatment,there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05)in indexes including age,sex,stage,KPS score,body weight,chemotherapy times,TCM syndrome score,Piper score and full blood count.The two groups were comparable.After treatment,the following findings were gained:(1)the total score of PFS and fatigue scores of behavioral and emotional dimensions were statistically different between the two groups(p<0.05),while the scores of physical and cognitive dimensions were not statistically different(p>0.05).However,the difference between the two groups before and after treatment was statistically significant(P=0.039),indicating that body fatigue has a certain improving trend,related to Shenqi Dihuang Decoction.(2)The effective rate of the treatment group was 83.33%,and that of the control group was 53.33%.The chi-square test of the post-treatment data revealed that the difference of TCM syndrome score between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).(3)KPS scores of the two groups of patients after treatment showed an upward trend compared with the scores before treatment,but the differences between intra-group and inter-group comparisons showed no statistical significance(P>0.05).(4)Comparison between the groups after treatment showed that the hemoglobin in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group and was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Under the guidance of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine,the application of Shenqi Dihuang Decoction to the treatment of CRF of lung cancer with qi-yin deficiency syndrome has a definite short-term curative effect and high safety.Shenqi Dihuang Decoction can effectively improve the fatigue symptoms of CRF patients of lung cancer and anemia to a certain extent.It helps improve the quality of life of CRF patients,and it embodies the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CRF.It is worthy of further in-depth research and promotion. |
