ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of large moxa stick moxibustion combined with acupuncture for the treatment of dysphagia in the recovery phase of ischemic stroke.MethodsSixty-six patients with dysphagia in the recovery phase of ischemic stroke who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the large moxa stick moxibustion combined with acupuncture group(observation group)of 33 cases and the rehabilitation training group(control group)of 33 cases. Both groups received routine medical treatment. The control group was treated only with swallowing rehabilitation training, and the observation group was treated with large moxa stick moxibustion and acupuncture on the basis of the control group.Large moxa sticks used for mild moxibustion were applied to Baihui acupoint,Fengfu acupoint,Fengchi acupoints and Zusanli acupoints, about 5min per point, and routine acupuncture was applied to" three needles on the brain, three needles on the tongue".The course of treatment was 4 weeks. Before and after treatment,Ichiro Fujishima swallowing test and standard swallowing assessment(SSA)were served as the assessments of patients’ swallowing function, and swallowing-related quality of life(SWAL-QOL)was used to evaluate quality of life in patients. Finally, the efficacy was evaluated according to the clinical symptoms and the improvement of Ichiro Fujishima swallowing test score.Results1.After treatment, the scores of Ichiro Fujishima swallowing test in both the observation group and the control group were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.01).The score of Ichiro Fujishima swallowing test in the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.01).2.After treatment,SSA scores in both the observation group and the control group were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01).Compared with before treatment, the SSA score of the observation group after treatment was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).3.After treatment,The scores of SWAL-QOL in both the observation group and the control group were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.01).Compared with before treatment, the score of SWAL-QOL in the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.01).4.After treatment,6 cases" dysphagia symptoms resolved in the observation group,14 cases showed obvious effect,8 cases were effective,4 cases were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 87.5%.In the control group,2 cases’ dysphagia symptoms resolved,7 cases showed obvious effect,10 cases were effective and 13 cases were ineffective, with the total effective rate of 59.4%.The clinical effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.01),and the total effective rate was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).ConelusionFor patients with dysphagia in the recovery phase of ischemic stroke, large moxa stick moxibustion combined with acupuncture therapy can significantly improve the swallowing function, and its clinical efficacy is obviously better than the swallowing rehabilitation training alone.Meanwhile,it can improve the quality of life. The combination of acupuncture and moxibustion has a good synergistic effect, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion. |
