A Correlation Study Between Caregiver Burden And Mental Resilience In Caregivers With Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the caregiver burden and psychological elasticity of patients with severe traumatic brain injury during hospitalization,analyze the influencing factors of the caregiver’s burden and psychological elasticity,and explore thecorrelation between the caregiver’s burden and psychological elasticity,so as to provide clinical work of medical staffs provide some guidance in formulating correspondi ng countermeasures and nursing measures,and provide them with a theoretical basis to reduce the caregiver’s burden of care and improve the psychological flexibility of the caregiver,which can enable the caregiver to better care for the patient and promote the patientEarly recovery provides scientific and objective reference for future research staff to carry out correlation research.Methods:This study is a nonexperimental correlation study.A convenient sampling method was used to select 233 caregivers of patients with severe traumatic brain injury who met the inclusion criteria from the neurosurgery of a Tertiary Hospita in Weihai.Quantitative assessment of demographic questionnaires,caregiver burden scales,and psychoelasticity scales.Statistical software SPSS17.0 Chinese version was used to sort out and analyze the effective questionnaires,and the average,standard deviation,frequency,and percentage were used to describe the general demographic characteristics,care burden,and psychological resilience of caregivers of patients with severe head injury.Use t test or analysis of variance to compare the difference between the caregiver’s care burden and psychological elasticity in patients with severe traumatic brain injury in general demographic data;use Pearson correlation analysis to analyze the correlation between the caregiver’s care burden and psychological elasticity in patients with severe traumatic brain injury.Multivariate stepwise regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of caregiver’s psychological flexibility.This.study was statistically significant at P<0.05.Results:(1)The total care burden of caregivers for patients with severe head injury in this study is(39.87 ± 18.93),which is at a mild or moderate level,in terms of age,relationship between the caregiver and the patient,length of hospital stay,conscious health status,the way the patient eats,and the medical expenses payment method.There are significant differences in this area,with statistical significance(P<0.05).(2)The total score of the carer’s psychological elasticity in patients with severe head injury in this study was(63.67±19.91),which was statistically significant in factors sueh as age,gender,occupation,economic income,number of hospital stays,conscious health status,and the medical expenses payment method(P<0.05).(3)After analyzing the correlation between the caregiver’s care burden and psychological elasticity in patients with severe traumatic brain injury,it was concluded that there was a negative correlation between the two(r=0.377,P<0.01).(4)In this study,the total score of the care burden,the method of paying medical expenses(own expense),the gender of the caregiver(woman),the relationship with the patient(children),and the education level of the caregiver(specialty)can jointly explain the 25.8%variation of the psychological elasticity score of the dependent variable.Conclusion:(1)The level of caregiver burden for patients with severe traumatic brain injury is mi1d and moderate,and the level of psychological flexibilityis good.(2)In the general information,the age of the caregiver,the relationship between the caregiver and the patient,the length of stay in the hospital,the conscious health status,the way the patient eats,and the medical expenses payment method affect the burden of care;the caregiver’s age,gender,occupation,economic income,the length of stay in thepatient,the conscious health statusand the medical expenses payment methodfactors havean influence on psychological elasticity.(3)There is a negative correlation between the caregiver’s care burden and psychological flexibility in patients with severe traumatic brain injury,that is,the heavier the caregiver’s burden,the lower the level of psychological elasticity.Total care burden score,medical care payment method(own expense),caregiver’s gender(woman),relationship with the patient(children),caregiver’s education(faculty)5 factors are important influencing factors of psychological elasticity.Therefore,we should pay attention to the caregiver’s psychological state,meet and meet needs,and reduce its burden.Level of flexibility,thereby improving the mental he alth and quality of life of the caregiver.Provide better services to patients.
