Interaction Design Research Of Elderly Voice Assistant Based On KAP Theory

The arrival of the intelligent epoch has brought human-computer interaction into the phase of voice-interface interaction.Voice interaction can effectively reduce people’s cognitive cost and bring the gospel for the elderly to integrate into the smart internet life.However,various voice assistants currently focus on the young market and cannot meet the core health needs of the old people.The elderly are the group with a high incidence of chronic diseases and their behaviors and habits need to be correctly guided in daily lives to effectively improve their health.Therefore,the design of voice assistants for the elderly should focus on how to guide their healthy behaviors for the prevention and control of chronic diseases.KAP theory(Knowledge-attitude-practice Model),as a behavior change theory based on the perspective of knowledge,has been widely used in the field of medical care and provides ideas for the researches on the guidance of elderly’s healthy behaviors.Based on this,this thesis launches research on the interaction design of elderly voice assistants based on KAP theory,which specifically includes the following three parts:(1)Theoretical research: first,this thesis conducts the literature review on behavioral intervention theories such as KAP theory,summarizes the behavioral intervention process and strategies of KAP theory,and proposes the framework of product design based on KAP theory;after that,clarifies the basic process and principles of voice interaction design by combining with related researches on voice interaction;finally,constructs the interaction design process for elderly voice assistants based on the KAP theory based on the integration of product design framework and voice interaction design process.(2)Design strategy research: first,to provide a basis for formulating intervention strategies,we take the elderly hypertensive patients as the target group,understand their specific problem behaviors,analyze the influencing factors of their behaviors,and summarize typical patient types based on the questionnaire surveys,statistical analysis,and semi-structured interviews.Then,combining the research results of the target group and the theoretical intervention strategies,elaborate the product design strategies that are used to guide the healthy behaviors of the elderly group.Finally,the interactive design strategy of elderly voice assistants is proposed from the perspectives like information content and presentation mode,person design,dialogue mode and interaction mode,etc.(3)Design practice research: based on the proposed interaction design strategy,blood pressure management assistant design is carried out,which includes: key task construction,virtual character design,dialogue script design and graphic interface design,etc.Finally,the usability and behavioral guidance effects of blood pressure management assistants are evaluated by using methods such as the Wizard of Oz and prototype experience.This manuscript takes the elderly voice assistant as the research topic,proposes a design strategy for guiding healthy behaviors based on KAP theory,and develops specific design practices.This research can provide references for the design research of elderly health behavior guidance products and the interaction design of voice products for the elderly.This paper has 61 pictures,31 tables,and 128 references.
