In this experiment,the cherry cultivar ’Huang mi’ and six wild cherry species in hilly areas were used as materials.The key techniques of cherry seedling propagation and the changes of grafting compatibility with’Huangmi’ were discussed.And the effect of different soil management methods on soil fertility in cherry orchard was also compared.The matching technology of artificial pollination of cherries was studied.The effects of summer pruning and top dressing on flower bud differentiation were evaluated.The main results were as follows;1、The germination rate of Cerasus tomentosa seeds stored in sand at low temperature for 240 days could reach 80%,and the germination rate of Cerasus vulgaris Mill could reach 60%after 240 days of outdoor sand storage;2、In Yangzhou area,the use of inlay bud grafting in November could significantly increase the graft survival rate of the cherries varieties ’Huang mi’;3、Among the 6 tested materials,the leaf buds of Chinese cherry required the lowest chilling capacity,only 480h,and the leaf buds of ’Gisela No.6’required the highest chilling capacity,reaching 1200h;4、Cherry flower buds could be used to bake pollen in a drying dish at room temperature.Water+10mg/L boric acid+20%sucrose could be used as a medium to effectively measure pollen viability.The vigor of pollen can be maintained for 30 days when stored at 4℃;5、The tree tray covered with straw could significantly increase the contents of available nitrogen,available phosphorus,available potassium,manganese,calcium and magnesium,but had no significant effect on the contents of iron,copper and zinc;6、The tree tray covered with straw and plastic film mulching could significantly improve the content of soil organic matter,and the effect of straw mulching was more significant;7、The flower bud differentiation rate of Huangmi was significantly increased by 8.26%when Formula 1 was applied;8、In Yangzhou area cherries cultivar’Huang mi’,leaving 5 leaves in early May could significantly increase the flower bud differentiation rate,reaching 23.12%.Pulling branches at 90° in early June could significantly increase the differentiation rate of flower buds,reaching 12.32%.
