Small Household Appliances Design For Small Families ——Taking Rice Cooker As An Example

The trend of family miniaturization comes,announcing the emergence of a new lifestyle and user needs.As a fast-growing and highly competitive industry,small household appliances need to fit the lifestyle and user needs of "small family",and achieve maximum competitiveness through rational market segmentation and product definition.How to subdivide "small family" market,insight into lifestyle,cultural consumption concept,tap user needs,build product definition and series planning is the problem to be solved in this dissertation.Firstly,the dissertation reviews the domestic and foreign literature on innovative design of small household appliances,and then combines market segmentation theory and consumer value model to carry out household research for small households.Based on the results of the household survey,using the method of consumer segmentation based on generation standards,author set up a user segmentation model based on social and life events,and formed typical user portraits,which laid a foundation for product definition and product line planning standards.Based on the typical user portrait,the design practice starts with the rice cooker case,and obtains the user demand for the value factors that affect the consumer choice of each subdivision,and summarizes the way to achieve the demand into five hardware sections:capacity,power,interactive mode,function setting and appearance design.Finally,by transforming the single main body of traditional rice cooker into the form of main body +middle circle + embedded panel,the single main body adapts to a variety of capacity specifications and interactive ways,adapts to the most comprehensive user group at the lowest cost,and achieves the three major goals of standardization,enrichment and personalization of product line planning.Finally,through the user feedback scale based on the consumption value model to validate the design results,the main value factors that affect the consumption selection are obtained,which provides evidence for the rationality of the design and provides a strong basis for subsequent optimization.In summary,this topic gives a clear and easy-to-use path and product line planning method for the development of small household appliances in market segments,which provides effective reference for subsequent related research.
