Research On Color Optimization Strategy Of Old Community From The Perspective Of Streetscape

With the change from “Shantytown” policy to “Renovation” policy,China’s approach to the transformation of old communities has changed from “large-scale demolition and construction” to “preservation and transformation”,from “top-bottom” control to the“bottom-top” control.This change fully reflects the “people-oriented” philosophy of the“Renovation” policy.However,due to the backwardness and inadequacy of the renovation methods,the renovated old communities do not meet the expectations and demands of the residents for quality communities.At present,one of the major factors contributing to the poor quality of the communities is the monochromatic and rigid appearance of the old communities after renovation.The reason for this problem lies in the lack of a suitable color control method for old communities when targeting color renovation.In the investigation and research on the related color control methods at home and abroad,the author found that the color control methods at present generally adopt the "God’s perspective" model,which is not in harmony with the “people-oriented” concept of“Renovation”.Therefore,how to find a color control method for old communities from the "human point of view",and in line with the concept of “Renovation”,and how to improve the quality of living after the transformation will become the starting point of this paper to explore the color control method and foothold.The first part is to analyze the problem,which is based on the theories of colorimetry,color vein,visual perception,proximity scale and background scale,combined with image mosaic and semantic analysis,taking "observation perspective" as a breakthrough point,and transforming "God perspective" to “personal perspective” for color control research,and puts forward a street color analysis method based on “personal perspective” and “personal perceptions”.The street color analysis method is applied to the Workers’ village in Caojia Lane,Chengdu,and the color problems in the proximity scale and background scale are analyzed in the Workers’ village.The second part is to solve the problem,under the four principles of people-oriented,overall coordination,color vein continuation,autonomy and public participation,the overall coordination strategy of the problem of proximity scale is put forward to control the integrity and diversity.For the color problem of background scale,the strategy of color vein continuation is put forward to ensure the historicity and diversity of color.On the two scales of local control,residents’ self-control is adopted to enhance residents’ participation and autonomy,and people-oriented“Renovation” policy is followed.The third part is the case practice,which applies the streetscape color analysis method and control strategy(that is,streetscape color control method)to the old communities in Chengdu,aiming at providing theoretical methods and practical cases for the old communities in Chengdu.
