Research On The Protection And Renewal Practice Of Jiangnan Ancient Towns From The Perspective Of Inheritance

The research and practice in the protection and renewal of architectural heritage in my country has been carried out relatively late compared to foreign countries,and because of the significant differences in Chinese and foreign cultures,foreign theories and practical experience cannot be directly used.Many efforts have been made to protect and renew,but from the current results of practice,there are still many problems to be improved in the development and construction of most Jiangnan ancient towns.Some of the protection and renewal methods of Jiangnan ancient towns are based on the strict protection of historical buildings as the absolute criteria,and some rely on the integration of commercial elements to reactivate the ancient town’s commerce as the main driving force.These practices inevitably ignore or fail to pay attention to the quality of life of local residents and the ancient town.The existing context guides the value.The “separate” care of the ancient town’s buildings from the local residents will make the buildings out of their original meaning,and the excessive integration into commercialization or the use of the ancient town as a “tourist attraction” for outsiders will make the ancient town lose its own identity.Cultural creativity,these practices are not a benign development direction that can be inherited for Jiangnan Ancient Town.In order to explore the inheritable development path of Jiangnan ancient towns,the article takes the Jiaoxi ancient town in Changzhou City,Jiangsu Province as the main research object.The search and investigation of other ancient towns in Jiangnan summarized the achievements and existing problems in the protection and renewal practice of the ancient towns in Jiangnan,and combined with the traditional Chinese architectural culture to carry on the thinking of inheritance protection and renewal practice.The article takes "inheritance" as the core idea and entry point,and summarizes the practice of protection and renewal based on the concept of "Era&livability",which breaks through the development pattern of most Jiangnan ancient towns in China today,and opens up the development of other ancient towns in the country.The ancient town of Jiangnan has survived to this day because of its strong sociality.It is currently one of the areas where people and traditional culture are most closely integrated.Through the protection and renewal practice of the ancient town of Jiangnan,the traditional Chinese culture can gradually hope to be based on the ancient town.In this way,more people can be familiar with the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture,and aim to form a "periodized traditional atmosphere residential area" that adapts to modern settlements in the ancient town of Jiangnan,and make efforts to translate the Chinese plan in the era of architectural context.
