Study On The Landscape Color Characteristics And Place Spirit Of Ancient Towns In Jiangnan Watertown

The Jiangnan water town area is rich in historical culture and natural resources,giving birth to the elegant color style of the ancient town environment,which is a unique aesthetic crystallization of Jiangnan people.However,in the context of rapid urbanization,many problems such as the destruction of landscape authenticity and the lack of attractiveness in landscape contexts are common.The author has conducted relevant research to enhance people’s understanding of the aesthetics of Jiangnan water towns.This article first systematically reviews relevant literature and proposes a method of dividing the landscape colors of ancient towns based on the classification standards of scenic resources.Then,four ancient towns are selected as samples for research,and color clustering(K-means)extraction technology is used.Based on quantitative data for visual analysis,the characteristics of landscape colors in Jiangnan ancient towns are summarized.On th is basis,we will further delve into the spirit of Jiangnan ancient towns and derive corresponding inheritance and development strategies for the color of Jiangnan water towns one by one.The main conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)The research summarized two major characteristics of landscape color in ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River.Firstly,the elegance,delicacy,and clear hierarchy embodied in the level of cultural scenery mainly discuss the concept of plain color under the pink and black appearance of buildings in the south of the Yangtze River,that is,the simplicity of the white Ben and the elegance of the plain,while displaying the order of the rows of buildings in multiple aspects of architectural composition.Secondly,at the level of natural scenery,the characteristics of softness,freshness,and natural harmony are first reflected in the intertwined relationship of water color,and then in the combination of natural and artificial elements,showing the characteristics of internal and external symbiosis,harmony,and order.(2)The analysis concludes that the influencing factors of the place spirit in the ancient towns in Jiangnan can be divided into two aspects: natural environment and traditional culture.The former can be composed of the earth dimension and the sky dimension,while the latter is reflected in the three levels of Wu Yue culture,Confucianism,Taoism,religious ideology,and the Five Elements and Five Colors theory.(3)At the practical level,two strategies for inheriting the color of ancient towns based on the spirit of the Jiangnan water town are derived,namely,effectively incorporating natural factors to reproduce the color style and features of Jiangnan ancient towns,and continuing to weave historical context to continue the color spirit of ancient towns.This article strives to explore the landscape color characteristics of ancient towns in Jiangnan water towns,and expands the theoretical system of landscape color research in terms of the spiritual connotation of places,which has both theoretical and practical significance.Due to the limited location and size of color samples for this survey,as well as the variability of dynamic factors,we are willing to build more objective and accurate research models in the future to draw more scientific conclusions.
