The Research On The Spatial Form Of Workers’ Clubs In The Period Of Third Front Construction

In the 1960 s,The Third Front Construction is based on the national defense military strategy of war preparedness,realizes the industrial technology,mechanical equipment,human talent from the eastern region to the central and western Third Front Construction areas in China for technology transfer.The site selection requirements of the Third Front Construction are scattered,concealed,backed by mountains and entering caves,and the construction of industrial bases needs to be carried out deep into mountains.It also contributed to the collective living environment of each Danwei.As the most characteristic public building and activity place in the “non-urban and non-rural” environment,the workers’ clubs in Third Front Construction have double research value in physical space and social space.By using the methods of case study and urban morphology,this paper introduces three typical case studies into the object of study,and analyzes the types and combination patterns of the physical spatial form of the workers’ clubs in Third Front Construction at the two levels of the general layout and the building.At the same time,the paper returns to the historical perspective to explore the design and construction logic of the workers’ clubs in Third Front Construction,so as to summarize its architectural features.Then,using the methods of architectural typology and comparative study,this paper sorts out the process of the type evolution and form generation of the workers’ clubs in China from nothing to Third Front Construction,and explores the influencing factors of their spatial form in the historical background of Third Front Construction.Finally,the paper discusses the corresponding relationship between social space and material space of workers’ clubs in Third Front Construction.By restoring the social life of the Third Front People,the paper explores the governance process of the shaping of collective will of the Third Front People and the construction of collectivized social space in the Third Front Construction and the role of workers’ clubs in it.The research shows that the Third Front Construction workers’ clubs have the overall layout characteristic of centrality,and both the external image of the building and the internal construction logic are very modern.Its spatial form not only draws on the experience of urban and rural architectural practice but also is influenced by the era background of the Third Front Construction and the foreign socialist camp.In terms of social spatial form,the Third Front Construction workers’ clubs are not only the space carrier for the country to construct the collective will of Third Front People,but also the space carrier for the collective memory of Third Front People themselves.
