Reasearch On College Catering Space Design Strategy To Meet College Students’ Spiritual Needs

Contemporary college students are growing up in the transformation period of China’s reform and opening up.The unique time background makes them have different needs in belief,knowledge,respect,self-realization,emotion,communication and entertainment,etc.,and spiritual needs also become the dominant needs of contemporary college students.At present,under the background of the rapid development of domestic higher education and the rapid increase in the number of college students,the construction and reform of college catering buildings have also developed rapidly and become the focus of college construction.However,with the expansion of college enrollment in recent years,simple catering mode in the past can no longer meet the spiritual needs of students in the new era,which leads to the lack of spirit in college catering spaces.Contemporary college students is the main reserve force of high-quality talent in nation-building,they are very valuable human resources.Focusing on the development of their ideological change and understanding their spiritual needs now in order to meet needs of their spiritual life.It reasonably can improve the contemporary college students’ ideological and political education,and it is also beneficial to their physical health,mental health and comprehensive development.As one of the most important and most frequently used spaces in colleges,college catering space undertakes all aspects of students’ campus life and is more responsible for providing students with high-quality material life and spiritual life with the diversified development of students’ needs.Therefore,it is of great significance to investigate the college catering space and to study the spatial optimization strategies for college students’ spiritual needs.In this paper,the research on college catering space and its space optimization strategy for college students’ spiritual needs are mainly divided into four parts.First of all,the relevant concepts and methods of research are defined.Under the guidance of Environment-Behavior Studies,Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs theory,and The Study on The Spiritual Needs of Contemporary College Students,combined with the interpretation of the research status at home and abroad,the development status of college catering space and the behavioral characteristics and spiritual needs of college students are fully explored.Secondly,clarify the research methods and make the research plans.The field research is conducted on 5 college catering spaces and the student behaviors by using the methods of behavioral map survey and questionnaire survey.Then sorted out and analyse the research data,by which the relationships between various student behaviors and their spatial environment elements are summarized.Then,combined with relevant theories and questionnaire results,it explores the correlation between college students’ spiritual needs and their behaviors,thus analyzing the relationship between students’ spiritual needs and catering space,namely,the spatial appeal of spiritual needs to college catering space.Moreover,the existing problems of college catering space is summarized through supplementary questionnaire,so as to find the gap between existing problems and spatial appeal,and provide basis for the proposal of optimization strategies.Finally,the optimization principles and strategies for college catering spaces to meet the spiritual needs are put forward,they are start in the three aspects of spatial diversity optimization of college catering spaces,targeted optimization of the character of college catering spaces,and behavioral support optimization of college catering spaces.
