In social, market research and scientific research, online questionnaire platform has become a common means of information collection. However, most of the online questionnaire platforms have the problems that the information display, use process and function range do not meet the user’s expectations. In the process of using, users are often confused and lost because they are unable to complete the questionnaire creation, design and delivery process quickly and correctly. This phenomenon is caused by the cognitive friction between user mental model and product performance model. The cognitive friction in online questionnaire platform will not only cause bad user experience to users, but also affect the effectiveness of data collection and lose the value of products. Therefore, based on the research of cognitive friction theory, this paper will analyze the manifestations and causes of cognitive friction in the online questionnaire platform, find the indicators to quantify the cognitive friction in the platform, put forward the mechanism and method to adjust the cognitive friction, and apply the proposed method to adjust the cognitive friction in the platform during the design process,so as to complete the design practice. Finally, usability test and data analysis are used to measure the existence of cognitive friction in the platform, and the effectiveness of the method is verified.First of all, this topic will study and study the theories related to cognitive friction, extract the important viewpoints related to cognitive friction, and guide the development and smooth progress of the research and design work of this topic.By analyzing the common cognitive friction points and their causes in the platform, the mechanism and method of adjusting cognitive friction in the platform are proposed from two aspects of design process and design method. In addition, from the perspective of data analysis,we find the key indicators of cognitive friction in the quantitative platform, and select the five degree model analysis method to comprehensively verify the existence of cognitive friction in the platform. Then,in the design process, the proposed method of adjusting cognitive friction mechanism is applied. On the one hand, the design model and reference points are summarized through full analysis and investigation of competitive products on the online questionnaire platform on the market. On the other hand, through the user interview and questionnaire survey of the target users in the design practice, the process, feelings and operating habits of users using the online questionnaire platform are observed and recorded, the real needs of users are summarized, the typical user portraits are generated, and the user psychological model and main functions are summarized. Then the user experience map is used to establish the relationship between the design model and the user model, and the differences between them are clearly compared. The types of differences are summarized from the three dimensions of interaction, function and scene, and the adjustment strategies of cognitive friction in platform design are proposed. Finally,in the interactive design practice of online questionnaire platform,we not only adjust the cognitive friction reasonably from the design process, but also put forward corresponding solutions according to the differences of cognitive friction summarized in the design research,so as to reduce the cognitive friction in online questionnaire platform. Finally, the usability test and five degree model analysis method are used to verify the feasibility and usefulness of the design results and methods, which can provide some reference for the interaction design of other online questionnaire platform products.
