Research On The History Of Planning And Construction In Shenzhen OCT Headquarters District(1985-2020)

The development and construction history of urban districts and urban areas is the medium and micro reflection of the development history of modern urban planning in China,which has important theoretical significance for the study of the development of modern urban planning in China.This paper adopts mainly with literature method,fieldwork method and the combination of qualitative research methods of comparative analysis to investigate the history of planning and construction in Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town headquarters district(OCT)and writing with the use of line drawding method which choosing the planning and construction activities of the great importance to OCT to give an account of its planning and construction history.This research mainly divided into two parts: the first part is the evolution of planning and construction practice of OCT,through inquirfing the relevant historical files about planning and construction process of OCT,for example,the first version of the OCT overall planning of the construction,the construction of theme parks and theme communities etc,in order to reform the historical outline of OCT 35 years planning and construction.The second part is the historical analysis and summary of the planning and construction hitstory of OCT in the past 35 years,such as the historical characteristics of OCT planning and construction activities,the planning and construction mode of OCT,the Enlightenment of its planning and construction history,and so on.In the process of OCT construction practice,this paper summarizes the experience and lessons of its construction practice,and further more the internal characteristics and connections of OCT planning and construction.At last this research puts forward some suggestions for the future development and construction of the OCT.Based on the investigation of modern urban planning and construction process of OCT,this study divides the 35 years of urban planning and construction history of OCT into three major stages: The initial construction stage of OCT(1985-1995),the comprehensive development stage of OCT(1996-2004)and the renewal and expansion stage of OCT(2005-2020),these three stages are the important starting points for understanding the history of the planning and construction of OCT.As one of several development zones directly planned and constructed by large state-owned enterprises in the early period of Shenzhen Special Zone,OCT headquarter distrct has been developing continuously under the urban spatial pattern in Shenzhen.In the 1990 s,the city planning of China and Shen Zhen are still in the exploratory stage under the background of reform and opening-up.OCT had creatively compiled its overall planning in 1986 by adopting urban design as a fundamental aspect,and established a relatively complete system of distrct planning.Since then,the continuous adherence of the construction activities in the area to the planning and the dynamic renewing of OCT overall planning have provided an important guarantee for the realization of the value of its urban planning.Under the interaction and cooperation of planning and construction activities,OCT has finally realized the transformation from an economic development zo ne to an ecological comprehensive urban distrct.The innovation and continuity embodied in the 35 year historical development of OCT are the important internal characteristics of its planning and construction activities.
