With the continuous advancement of motorization and urbanization in China, urban traffic congestion is increasingly severe.According to the past development experience of major cities,it is crucial to build an integrated transportation system with rail transit as the main body to solve urban traffic problems. However, rail transit is restricted by many conditions, the accessibility of rail transit is relatively low,it is necessary for rail transit and other modes of transportation to make effective supplement, which can play the role of rail transit completely and enhance its attraction.Under such a research background, this thesis studies on the choice behavior of urban rail transit access modes.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the characteristics of access modes of rail transit, and discusses the factors that affect the choice of access modes into four categories: personal attributes, environmental attributes, travel attributes and access modes attributes. On the basis of the analysis of the above factors, this thesis uses Revealed Preference(RP)and Stated Preference(SP)survey methods to formulate the survey plan. The survey content mainly includes three parts: personal information, actual travel information and situational combination choice.A field survey of the rail transit stations in the center of Xi’an is carried out. Then, this thesis makes a preliminary statistical analysis of the survey data.Secondly, this thesis builds the Nested Logit model of access modes choice of urban rail transit, and divides the access modes of rail transit into two subsets to construct the model: slow interconnection mode and fast interconnection mode.In addition, considering the differences of individual preferences, the Mixed Logit model of access modes choice of urban rail transit is constructed.Combined with the field survey data, this thesis uses Nlogit software to solve the two models respectively, and select the significant factors of access modes choice of urban rail transit under different models respectively, and analyzes the regression results of the two models. Finally, the modeling results of the two models are compared. The results show that the Mixed Logit model is statistically superior to the Nested Logit model, and the Mixed Logit model is more explanatory.According to the regression results of Mixed Logit model, the significant influencing factors of access modes choice of urban rail are as follows: age, education, monthly income, vehicle ownership situation, temperature, weather, and the pavement width, bicycle lane width, bicycle lanes isolation way, travel time, transferring distance, looking for bicycle or waiting time, travelling time and interchange fees.Based on the above influencing factors, the thesis puts forward corresponding suggestions on the connection optimization of urban rail transit in order to further optimize the connection structure of rail transit and strengthen the connection between rail transit and other modes of transportation.
