Recently,with the rapid development of social economy and the continuous improvement of living standards,the number of car ownership has increased year by year in china.The rapid growth of ownership not only brings convenience to the people of our country,but also leads to the problem of urban traffic congestion.The joint investigation of revealed preference research(RP)and stated preference(SP)was adapted to analyze the influence factors of driver’s concern about variable message signs(VMS)information and mine the influence factors of driver’s route selection.Based on the mechanism of VMS information influencing route choice behavior,the VMS information on variable information board was optimized to achieve effective guidance for driver’s route selection,and eventually to alleviate the increasingly serious traffic congestion.Combining with the second ring road of Xi’an City,this paper optimizes the VMS information of urban road.First of all,eight independent variables from four aspects,including driver’s personal attributes,travel characteristics,VMS information content and form were selected to construct Ordered Logit model and Partial Proportional Ods model to analyze the significant effect of the drivers’ conercen about VMS information.Some test indexs were employed to compare the advantages and disadvantages of Ordered Logit model and Partial Proportional Odds model.Elastic analysis was used to quantitatively analyze the influence of significant factors on driver’s attention to VMS information.This paper takes the attention of the VMS information on the second ring variable information board in Xi’an urban road as an example.Besides,eleven varibles from three aspects,including driver’s personal attributes,travel characteristics and traffic information attribute was used to bulid the Binary Logit model,and the Jackknife and Bootstrap technology was introduced to further improve the accuracy.The influence degree of congestion time,congestion,form and update frequency on driver’s route choice is discussed in detail.This paper takes an empirical example on the drivers’ choice of travel mode on the South Second Ring Road in Xi’an.Last but not least,sixteen variables from five aspects,including driver’s personal attributes,travel characteristics,traffic information attribute and the color of form,were supplied to build Multinomial Logit model and Nest Logit model to optimize the conent of VMS information.Two model were compared by some test indexs.Elastic anlasis was used to quantitatively analyze the influence factors of drivers’ preference on VMS information.Based on the analysis of the preference of VMS information on the variable information board on the second ring road of Xi’an City,the empirical analysis is carried out on the Xi’an city.
