Urban rail transit is rapidly developing in China. At present, urban rail transit lines have been running in 38 cities in the mainland of China. However, due to the high cost and low accessibility of urban rail transit,it needs to be connected with other transportation modes in order to make full use of its role as the main artery of urban traffic. Therefore, the last mile problem has become increasingly prominent. It is necessary to study the choice of urban rail transit stations’ access mode, but researches mainly focus on objective attribute variables, and the studies on potential factors such as travelers’ attitudes and feelings are not thorough and comprehensive enough.First, based on the existing literatures, this article summarizes the access mode choice behavior of urban rail transit stations and the theory of planned behavior, then divided the factors of the choice of urban rail transit stations’ access mode into the traveler’s personal attributes, travel characteristics, access mode characteristics, station characteristics and psychological latent variables.Introduce two predictive variables including habits and attitudes towards environmental protection to expand the theory of planned behavior and use deductive reasoning to put forward research hypotheses based on the theory of planned behavior.Secondly, use the Revealed Preference(RP)survey method to make the survey plan of the choice of urban rail transit stations’ access mode. The questionnaire includes two parts: objective attribute variables and latent variables.According to the survey plan, the survey is carried out in Chengdu, and the descriptive statistics is analyzed on the valid questionnaires. Moreover, the reliability test and validity test on the latent variables are done. Then, based on the RP survey data,a traditional Mixed Logit model of the choice of urban rail transit stations’ access mode without latent variables is established.STATA software is used to calibrate the parameters and validate the model.According to the model calibration results, the choice characteristics of the urban rail transit stations’ access mode are analyzed. Finally, the Multiple Indicators and Multiple Causes model(MIMIC)based on the theory of planned behavior is constructed for the choice behaviors of 6 access modes. And the relationship between the latent variables and the relationship between the latent variables and the objective attribute variables are analyzed. The results show that under the models of 6 access modes, the attitudes towards environmental protection have no significant impact on attitudes towards the behavior, intention, and subjective norm. Then, build a Mixed Logit model based on the theory of planned behavior for the choice of urban rail transit stations’ access mode, which uses the objective attribute variables to predict the latent variables. At last, substitute the adaptive values of the latent variables into the Mixed Logit model for solution. The results show that the Mixed Logit model considering latent variables has stronger explanatory power and better model fit.
