| This research paper is entitled with “Evaluation of the Effectiveness and Efficiency of Land Use Planning of Sustainable Urbanization in Ethiopia from 2010 to 2020: A Case Study of Nekemte City”;The study identifies and describes the challenges and main factors affecting land use planning and management control in the city.This study identified the existing Urban structure plan development and land use management.It also shows the participants / concerned bodies in the structural plan development;their role and responsibilities are expressed in detail;major problems are also addressed.I have obtained and used both primary data and secondary data in this research.The questionnaire and interview method of data collection and qualitative research method were applied.Moreover,the researcher used personal observations.Excel and manual methods were used to analyst the data collected and tables,pie charts,and texts were used to percent and show the data analyses and interpretations.In this study,the sampling technique applied is a purposive sampling method.It is because of the respondents are employees of urban administrations,and they are assumed to know something about land development and management control and land related issues.The study finding indicates that the land use planning and land use management control is embarrassed by different factors.There is poor participation,integration,and coordination in the process of structural plan development of the city by the concerned bodies.Even if the study findings reveal that the Nekemte city commitment in the fulfilment necessary conditions for planning control in which it leads to ineffective and inefficient land use management system.Significances of this study that can be used to evaluate of the mobilization of the Nekemte city residents about the planning control benefits and land use management system practices.It also used to serve to inform the city to speed up effective & efficient land use planning control and creates awareness of the service provision to the city and the community as well. |
