| With the continuous progress and development of society, the trend of silver hair tide in my country is also deepening, and the degree of aging population is becoming more and more obvious.Having satisfied the material foundation, the elderly begin to pursue spiritual abundance. The shift of the focus of life and the increase in free time prompt the elderly to organize and carry out various activities. At the same time, urban parks gradually become the main place for the elderly to outdoor activities. As part of the urban public space, urban parks are available to people of all ages in the park, among which the elderly are the most frequently used group. However, the current urban parks lack many facilities suitable for aging, such as barrier-free specific practical facilities or artistic facilities for spiritual pursuits.Urban parks are essentially limited to providing a physical space for the elderly, while ignoring the behavior and spiritual needs of the elderly, which do not match the growing needs of the elderly for a better life.Public art in urban parks is not just a kind of art,but also refers to a social and cultural value orientation of art. This value orientation, based on the premise of serving the public and beautify the environment,is able to create a friendly space, enhance the aesthetic experience and sense of belonging. It’s meaningful to construct a comfortable and unique humanistic elderly-friendly park for the elderly by optimizing the art in activity space for the elderly of urban parks to be age-friendly,realizing the purpose of cultural elderly care, promoting the development of inherent traditional elderly care methods to a higher level and continuously improving the quality of life of the elderly. From the perspective of age-friendly concept, this article takes the elderly, urban parks, and public art as the research objects. The age-friendly concept with human care and the public art design of urban parks are combined to contribute to providing a new design angle and method for the construction of urban old-age culture and urban parks, which also proposes a systematic strategy. The article mainly explores from the following six aspects:The first chapter succinctly explains the research background, research purpose and significance, domestic and foreign related research and the main content of the subject. The second chapter provides specific explanations of the related concepts involved in the research. In addition, the relationship between ageing, urban parks and public art is discussed from the perspective of the elderly and the city in the context of aging, concluding the important significance of integrating the concept of aging into the public art design of urban parks. The third chapter starts with the influence of the physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly on public art design and provides research directions and theoretical support for the later field investigations and design strategies. In the fourth chapter, four typical cases of urban parks in Nanjing and related field investigations are carried out to analyze the characteristics of public art design in Nanjing urban parks and summarizes the interaction and the different evaluations of the elderly’s preference for public art between the elderly in urban parks and public art, from which we can conclude which elements should be provided for public art suitable for the elderly and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of public art design in Nanjing urban parks. The fifth chapter is based on the theoretical research and field investigation in the previous article.Aiming at the activity space for the elderly formed by the behavioral characteristics,we can summarize and put forward the principles of public art design, specific implementation methods and development suggestions in urban parks from the perspective of ageing, and systematically plan the activity space for the elderly in urban parks to adapt to the coming age of aging.Chapter 6 is a holistic summary and related discussion on the research of this article. |
