| In recent years,there has been a wave of research on child-friendly concepts and the construction of child-friendly cities at home and abroad.China’s 14 th Five-Year Plan in2021 explicitly includes "child-friendly cities" in urban planning and construction,and Shenzhen,Changsha,Beijing and other cities are in full swing.At present,China has accumulated some experience in the study of child-friendly cities,but it is still in the exploration stage,and there are many problems and shortcomings in the construction.In this paper,we firstly summarize the research and theories related to child-friendly cities and children’s outdoor space at home and abroad,and clarify the research theme of this paper.The concepts of "child-friendly","urban park" and "urban park under the concept of child-friendly" are also explained.The paper selects representative cases of child-friendly parks at home and abroad for interpretation,and summarizes four design inspirations: children’s activity facilities,nature experience design,cultural education design,and functional layout design,which provide reference ideas for this study.Secondly,a site analysis was conducted for the whole Fairy Lake Park,and the problems existing in the park were derived: such as lack of infrastructure,unreasonable distribution of functional areas,and confusing traffic routes.A more in-depth study of the park was conducted from a child-friendly perspective,using questionnaires and behavioral observations to obtain data on the perceptions and needs of children and parents in the designed site.And combined with the theoretical analysis of children’s activity scale and behavioral characteristics,we summarize the activity needs of children in the design site and provide support for the subsequent design practice.Based on the theoretical research and the actual research results of the site,this paper determines the four design principles of the site design: safety,integrity,ecology,and fun,and proposes design strategies from five levels: functional zoning,traffic organization,node planning,supporting facilities,and plant configuration.Finally,this paper takes Xiaogan Xianniu Lake Park as the design practice object,and based on the research data,design principles and strategies acquired in the previous paper,the park is re-planned and repositioned according to the child-friendly concept.It is hoped that this study can provide design reference and reference for the design of urban parks under the child-friendly concept. |
