The rapid urbanization accompanied by the rapid growing urban population,the rapid development of industry and the large increase of construction land has significantly changed the original hydrologic conditions of the city.The city is facing a series of ecological problems such as flood disasters,water pollution,loss of aquatic habitat,water resource shortage and decline of groundwater level.Developed countries have uncounted these problems much earlier,consequently,their research on stormwater management are more advanced.For instance,the United States,Australia,Britain,Japan,Germany and other countries have relatively mature management modes.Each country has a unique management model that was developed base on their own circumstances.But all of the models were established base on the actual situation and consideration of sustainability.China has a long history of collecting and utilizing Rainwater.In 2012,China first proposed a new model of stormwater management — sponge city,and carried out a series of theoretical and practical exploration.The establishment of the new model is a long-term and arduous system engineering,each city and region must put forward effective and feasible sustainable stormwater management strategies according to their actual situation.This paper used the Hexi area of Jianye District,Nanjing as the research object,and analyzed the rain and flood conditions in Jianye District,the natural geographical elements of rain and flood formation,and the urbanization factors faced by stormwater management through field research and data collection.Based on the research result,three strategies for sustainable stormwater management in Jianye District were further proposed.Namely: 1)optimizing the green space system pattern,updating the rain-filled adaptive green space,and proposing a green infrastructure strategy;2)improving the river network system and water system ecological transformation,and establishing a sustainable urban water space strategy;3)proposing a green street construction method for different road types in Jianye District based on the road characteristics.This paper provides new ideas and new methods for relevant staff in the future rainwater management work and promoting the sustainable stormwater management in Jianye District of Nanjing more scientifically and effectively.
