| As one of the core topics of architecture,geometry and form have been constantly updated and changed since ancient times,and have promoted the development of the discipline.Geometric prototype,as the necessary formal vocabulary of architects,plays an important role from concept generation to form confirmation.U shape is one of the important derivative patterns of square geometry.Compared with perfect geometry,it has more complex and diverse geometric features such as semi-enclosed,directional,continuous,etc.It has been widely used in architectural design,but compared with practical applications,the research of u-shaped building is fragmented,lacking systematic review of its historical evolution,formal characteristics,specific operational methods and corresponding order principles of the system.This paper takes U-shaped geometry as the breakthrough point,based on geometrical and prototype theory,gestalt psychology theory and formal analysis theory,with graphical analysis as the main tool,combined with a large number of classic cases,combing the evolution and development trend of U-shaped buildings,exploring the geometric order followed by the corresponding form of operation,trying to reveal the inherent logical association between U-shaped geometry and form generation.Paying special attention to the new application of U-shape since modern architecture,combined with Eisenman’s summary of architectural form elements,from the three perspectives of volume contour,combined body block and enclosure interface,deeply interpret the existence state of U-shaped geometry in architecture with specific analysis.Firstly,when the U shape is used as a single element,the operation focuses on the form and space of the building body.From the perspective of the volume contour,for the U-shaped end,the corner,the bottom edge,the two wings and other graphic components,the four directions of scaling,fracture cutting,torsional bending and variation strengthening are summarized,and then the two-dimensional extension is summarized.Eight specific operations to topological variability to complete the shaping process from abstract geometry to figurative architectural forms.Secondly,based on the geometric unit features of the U-shape,the operation methods of its derivation and combination are discussed.When the U shape is used as a combination block,according to whether they overlap each other,a specific form operation method is developed from the adjacent positional arrangement of the adjacent juxtaposition and the interposition type;when the U shape is used as the enclosing interface,the space is first played on the space.Qualification and segmentation,and then as a linear organizational structure,a series of combined units in series,the focus of attention at this time is more on the organizational relationship between the geometry and the processing of the external space.Through case analysis,it tries to sort out its internal form generation logic and provide some optimization strategies for architectural design based on U-shaped geometry.In addition,this paper attempts to expand the extension of U-shaped geometric applications in contemporary architecture,from the perspective of topological deformation,three-dimensional deformation,etc.In order to break through the formbased research based on the plane,and to study the form generation under the European geometric logic,to explore the traditional geometric prototype in the context of the new era.The possibility of creative use reflects the new value of formal research in contemporary context. |
