Due to the strong position of the owner in the construction contract, the long period and frequent problems of the execution the construction contract, the owner often violates the rules and put forward unreasonable requirements during the execution of the construction contract. This leads to disputes and conflicts, which in turn leads to the emergence of the actual cost overspending and low profits when the contractor undertaking the project. On the one hand, considering that cost control can increase profit margins to a certain extent,on the other hand, scholars lack empirical research on the impact of owners’ needs and construction contract performance costs. Therefore, this article chooses to study the influence of the owner’s demand on the performance cost of the construction contract from the perspective of the contractor,in order to better protect the contractor’s interests.First of all, this paper selects status quo indicators of construction project construction contract performance through literature analysis, designs survey questionnaires based on the indicators and collects data. The results show that my country’s current construction project construction contract performance status is still not good.Among them, the contract performance rate is not high, mainly due to the high cost of contract performance.Delays in construction period are widespread, causing serious losses to both parties.Poor construction quality and insufficient standardization of change management procedures will cause disputes, which will lead to increased costs. It can be seen that the poor performance of the construction contract will inevitably lead to the overrun of the performance cost of the construction contract.Secondly,in view of the status quo of cost overruns in the performance of construction contracts for construction projects, the theoretical model and research hypothesis between the owner’s demand, the contractor’s performance behavior and the construction contract performance cost are put forward. In this paper, the measurement scales of the three are compiled, and the structural equation model between the three is built. Then, collect data through questionnaire survey, and perform normality test, reliability and validity analysis, and structural equation model fit analysis and correction on the data.On this basis,The relationship between owner’s demand, contractor’s performance behavior and the performance cost of construction contracts are verified. The results show that the main effect of owner’s demand on the performance cost of construction contracts is not significant, and the mediation effect that affects the performance cost of the construction contract through contractor’s performance behavior is partly significant. Finally, based on the hypothesis test results, suggestions for controlling the performance cost of construction contracts are put forward. This paper identifies owner’s demand and explores the effect of owner’s demand on the performance cost of construction contracts, which provides reference suggestions for the contractor control the performance cost of construction contracts. |
