With the development of economy and society and the penetration of consumption culture, all kinds of consumption space in the city are produced. From the traditional trade fair to the commercial street and then to the shopping complex, the development and evolution of commercial space constantly adapt to the change of consumption mode and people’s demand. In recent years, the rise of experiential consumption and virtual network consumption has posed a threat to the development of real business. The original single shopping commercial space has been transformed into urban public space carrying lifestyle and social functions. The modern pedestrian commercial district emerges as the times require, and is favored by people with its composite functional space and open and inclusive characteristics. As an important part of urban public space system,it is of great significance to study the interface space design of modern pedestrian commercial block.China has experienced rapid incremental development in the past 20 years. With the process of urban expansion and urbanization, the scale of commercial volume is also growing rapidly. At present, the urban development has entered the stock age,and the regional transformation and renewal and the improvement of spatial environment quality have become an important trend. The existing commercial pedestrian streets in the city are facing the impact of consumption mode change, experience economy and online shopping, showing a declining trend of insufficient space and commercial vitality. It is urgent to rethink the space of commercial pedestrian streets carrying shopping activities and social activities.Xi’an Luoma Pedestrian Commercial Street is an important commercial center in the Ming Dynasty. It is the representative of regional culture and the carrier of urban memory from traditional commercial street to modern pedestrian commercial street. As a typical representative of the existing pedestrian commercial street in the city, limited by the design concept at that time,it is difficult to meet people’s material and spiritual needs in many aspects, such as business form, function, spatial organization and material environment. This paper investigates its interface space and puts forward specific transformation and improvement strategies.Based on the background of consumer culture, this paper makes an in-depth study on the interface space of modern pedestrian commercial district.First of all,the paper summarizes the four elements of modern pedestrian space design, including the scale of the space, the interface of the business, and the design strategy.Next,it conducts field investigation and Research on the Pedestrian Commercial Street of Luoma City, combs its development process, and analyzes the current situation of its interface space. This paper quantifies the relevant elements of the interface space of the Pedestrian Commercial Street in Luoma City, analyzes and studies three types of data: spatial variables based on psychological activities, material variables based on behavioral activities and pedestrian behavioral activities, analyzes the response of the current commercial activity layer by layer, and comprehensively evaluates the current situation and quality of the interface space of the Pedestrian Commercial Street in Luoma city. Finally, combined with the case study, the paper puts forward the interface space optimization strategy of Luoma Pedestrian Commercial Street from the four levels of function, group, monomer and detail, and explores the effective path to optimize and upgrade the existing pedestrian commercial street and improve the quality,so as to provide reference for the development of urban commercial space.
