Research On The Renewal Planning And Design Strategy Of Ganjiazhai Area In Xi’an From The Perspective Of Space Production Theory

In the context of globalization,China has ushered in the transition period of new urbanization,followed by the transformation of urban space development ideas — urban renewal has become the main way of current urban development,and has received high attention from nation to local.At present,the focus of urban renewal has shifted from the previous’ demolition and construction’ of the physical environment to the’ peopleoriented’ quality improvement.Therefore,how to establish a connotative and progressive renewal mode has become the focus of research.Space production theory provides a new research perspective for urban renewal under the background of the development of the era and the requirements of theoretical integration.Xi’ an Ganjiazhai area,as one of the typical urban village reconstruction areas in Xi’an,began to be renovated in 2000 and relocated in 2012.The area has obvious geographical advantages and it is the key development area of Xi’an High-tech Zone in the future.However,the status quo space does not match the future development needs,and there is a clear conflict between ’top-down urban construction’ and ’bottom-up informal growth’.It is urgent to further study and propose appropriate renewal development models and sustainable planning strategies to meet the needs of future development.Therefore,this study aims to analyze the antagonism and conflict of the current situation of Ganjiazhai Area in Xi’an by using the theory of space production,trace its internal operation logic,and on this basis,putting forward the renewal planning and design strategy that takes into account the ’rationality’ of all parties,which has important theoretical and practical significance.Starting from the theoretical research,this paper clarifies the connotation evolution and research focus of urban renewal by combing and summarizing the development process,theoretical research and practical experience of urban renewal at home and abroad.Then,the introduction of space production theory and its application in urban renewal related research,provides a theoretical basis for this study.In the empirical analysis,taking Xi’an Ganjiazhai area as the research object.Firstly,the renewal process of Ganjiazhai area in Xi’an was analyzed,which was divided into three stages: the initial formation period of spatial form,the conflict period of spatial demand,and the adaptation period of spatial change.Secondly,according to the theoretical research foundation,the ’three elements of space’ analysis framework is constructed.Through empirical individual life trajectory investigation,the space is classified and interpreted as a whole.The realistic dilemma of space production in Xi’ an Ganjiazhai area is summarized from the aspects of daily life,service facilities,interests,responsibilities and public participation.The characteristics of imbalance,instability and informality are put forward.The space production mechanism of cooperation and game among multiple subjects is formed through the restriction and discipline of power,the circulation and operation of capital and the pursuit and resistance of people ’ s livelihood in Xi’ an Ganjiazhai area.Based on this,the optimization of space production mechanism is put forward,and the space production mechanism of multi-party cooperation is formed.The win-win cooperation pattern of government decision-making,enterprise interest rationalization and public benefit maximization is achieved.Thirdly,in view of the current situation and the dilemma of space production,taking space justice as the value orientation,the overall framework of urban renewal is constructed,which includes the definition of stakeholders,the establishment of renewal goals,the selection of renewal modes,the clear renewal content,the renewal design support and the renewal mechanism guarantee.Finally,the renewal planning and design strategy has put forwarded in this paper from three aspects : the planning and improvement of daily life revival,the design guidance of highlighting symbols and the institutional guarantee of promoting fairness and justice,which provides reference for promoting the sustainable development of Xi’an Ganjiazhai area and realizing spatial justice.
