Compared with traditional western cities, the history of Chinese heritage protection is shorter, and the methods of heritage protection have only matured in recent years. Therefore, many historical buildings and places full of collective and individual memory in our country have disappeared in the rapid development of urban construction. The disappearance of the material carrier brings about the disappearance of memory, and the protection of memory places and the reproduction and reconstruction of memory of places have become the social responsibility of the discipline of architecture and urban design. Most pre-industrial cities followed the holistic development concept of classical civilization, and the construction concept based on time clues occupies the main form of consciousness. The industrial civilization has caused a sudden change in the evolutionary logic of the city, the city has become a chaotic patchwork, and the post-modern city presents the dilemma of "irrationality" and "fragmentation".Following this, people’s consciousness of time and space has also changed. The importance and extensibility of space are playing an increasingly important role in the construction of people’s ideology and the practice of the city.At the same time, the dual role of population migration and electronic media has allowed spatial imagination to move from the elite group to the collective and construct people’s daily lives.Collective memory and collective imagination coexist, and the past and memory are constantly being created in the reality and illusion created by imagination. In the reconstruction of,the boundary between the past and the present is blurred, and the city’s past is constructed by people in real relics, fragmented stories, and illusory images.Based on the reflection of collective ideology,it discusses the interdependent relationship between memory and imagination from philosophy, psychology, sociology, and architecture, and the morphological changes of the two from collective memory to collective imagination under the new cultural background. The reflection of the theory and strategy of the current urban memory reproduction as a clue, from the cognition, reproduction and practice of urban space,it criticizes the restoration of the dogmatic historical scene with a single time as the clue under the traditional concept of time and space. It is under the background of the new era.The process of integrating the theory of urban space imagination into the cognition of urban memory and the design of urban memory reproduction. In this paper, theory and practice are mutually verified, surveyed more than 10 cities and towns along the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, and combined with a large number of textual documents,it analyzes the cultural memory, spatial memory, and construction memory under the cultural background of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway.Take the design analysis of the Sezhai-Dian-Vietnam Railway Historical and Cultural Park as an example, from the theoretical construction of the elements of urban memory and the principle of historical time and space imagination to the systematic collage strategy with "town texture, scene and architecture" as the structure, reproducing the blending of multiple cultures Historical time and space under the background. The design of this article is based on the overall imagination of historical time and space with memory as the clue.It is not based on the research of urban renewal and activation based on existing material remains, nor is it a dogmatic restoration and reconstruction of historical buildings and scenes. It is a kind of picking up.Memory reconstitutes the process of memory based on the discrimination of the current time-space view and the memory morphology under the new cultural background.
